Genius from Mowbray… “Here Dennis, I know there are a few Spurs s outs coming today, play **** then they won’t want you back!!”
Don't agree that if a player is being singled out as **** and a waste of a shirt, and actually they're our best performer statistically, or factually you might say, that we have to accept their opinion as correct.
Says everything we were saying at the game. We assumed he didn't want to embarrass Neil or Ba before half time. I've said this before and I believe it's true, people backed themselves into a corner with Neil. They said he was the real deal and should start every game ... ... but, in reality, not one of us would be thinking we should sign him if he was an opposition player. He's had a free ride because he's local and showed signs of being a talent. Sadly he was a liability yesterday and I was really annoyed with his performance and attitude. He tried his turns and tricks in positions that put us in real danger, and also allowed players to run past him, then started shouting and pointing at teammates as if it was their fault. His attitude really needs to improve.
Is Mowbray the equivalent of Bruce at our spot recently. A dinosaur manager who hasn’t moved with the times?
This is the worst thing about Donald's time was how they flogged the future of the club on the cheap to keep the lights on for a couple of weeks! Arseholes!
Whilst no way experts, our 28 players in the Prediction League will agree how unforgiving and difficult to forecast games in this league this year. Seven games where the W,D,L opinion over 28 people were -- 23/5/0 27/1/0 27/1/0 20/4/4 21/6/1 25/3/0 and 20/6/2/ resulted in 4 aways and three draws. Another game that was a home win, had 24 saying draw or away !!
Its not facts though, stats dont tell you the full story. Stats dont tell you the positional play or decision making of a player which are 2 of the most important things.
Not the full story by any means but definitely a significant part of it. Especially when it's multiple areas that a player has rated highly in not just something isolated like passing accuracy or whatever.
Did the bad weather / energy-sapping conditions on Wednesday have a bearing on Mowbray’s decision to leave out Evans and Pritchard, I wonder? They might have been more at risk of injury if played from the off. Without those two, I’ve been struggling to think of a way we could have put out a team with more solidity. Just goes to show our limited options with Ballard, Alese, Stewart, Gooch, etc out.
100%. Almost criminal. Some serious talent gone so he didn't have to dip into his bank account. Scumbag.
after his early turn and loss of the ball i tried to keep an eye on him because i honestly want to see the lad progress with us...he did make some tackles but most were 'waving a leg' and knocking the ball back to them and we are not seeing this 'vision for a pass' that so many wanted him in the team for, i feel he is contributing less each game for some reason. yes, i get he is a young lad and local etc etc but i tend to look at gooch and onien, both not outstanding players but they are in the oppositions faces, they put their bodies in the way and will run themselves into the ground, always seem to be in the action and that is what i want to see from midfield, with pritchard being a prime example.
Cirkin a player I highly rate too, has been shocking since his outstanding performance against Wigan. Who would be a manager. .
Me and my son did the same because people had been routinely praising him and telling us we were wrong to doubt him. As you say it all looks like he wants the admiration to come before the perspiration. Players like Gooch, Pritchard, Evans, etc, don't receive the same leeway as Neil. Gooch runs himself into the ground, flies into tackles, tries to go past people, tries to make forward passes, etc. Taking chances means risking making errors and exposing yourself to criticism. Neil waves his leg at tackles, lays the ball off rather than run past people and makes passes that leave a lot to the receiver. But worst of all he never seems to break sweat.
First half, their number 6 played in the pockets between the lines, won every second ball and dictated their play. At a break in play around 40 minutes Mowbray called Amad over and told him to get on him and he stuck to him like glue for the rest of the first half. That’s the sort of thing that Prichard doesn’t need to be told to do, he does it naturally as part of his game (play in the pockets). You are spot on, Amad is far better on the wing, number 10 is either not his natural position or he is still too inexperienced to play it.
