Unfortunately it will be in the report that it was reckless/dangerous/serious foul play whatever the term they use is, which will mean a 3 game ban unless it’s appealed.

    It’s not a 1 game professional foul.

The only way the ban will get reduced is if we appeal and its overturned.

To me it was a red card, I'm afraid. But a three game been would be harsh; it was obviously completely unintentional and without malice.

Reckless, if considered that, is a yellow card offence.
Ref deemed it worse and red card. That said I didn't think it was excessive force. He'll be lucky to get it overturned unless on reflection it's deemed only careless.

I felt like we were hanging on.
I was worried about 'playing out from the back'. Most times it ended with a hoof upfield.
Millwall dont seem to use Honeyman properly. He was on the wing whereas with us he was at the centre of everything.

Well, I thought it was jolly unfair to penalise us. For anything.

I watched the highlights, and there was one angle (from the end of the ground, not the side), of the red card incident which showed it indeed to be a reckless and dangerous challenge. I am afraid any ref would have had to have given a red card for that these days. VAR, if available, would have upheld the decision.

Interesting observation, because I thought the standout feature of Rosenior’s first game in charge was that we rarely hoofed it, but played the ball patiently from the back. He also cut out the Hail Mary full back to winger diagonal balls that have been a regular sight in recent months.

Sure we hoofed a few clearances at the end when we were hanging on - but in the first 75 minutes or so we didn’t do that at all, was my impression anyway.

I was confused by Rosenior's comment on the possible suspension, I thought red card meant three games automatically, apart from a second yellow or denying a goalscoring opportunity?

Game was ruined by the sending off.

I remember a few games back Oscar did something similar with a high foot and got away with it.

I think the clean sheet was more down to their ineptitude rather than a solid defensive display.

The Millwall commentators were commenting on how nervy Figs passes were even after the first ten minutes whilst adding they hadnt seen much of Hull this season.

I know what you mean, but Ros is an advocate of playing from the back, so we’re gonna have to get use to it.
Seems a lot of teams are going that way. Presumably coming from the FA coaching courses. Suppose it’s better than the previous Howard Wilkinson mantra of hoofing it into the box in as few teaches as necessary.
Rosenior has said he wants defenders to be brave. Guess that probably means us too!!,,,

Seen it from all the replay angles too and I can't see how it's a red card. Surely then any high boot should be a red card if that's the case.

I think the lad's cuts made it look worse

If that was given against Millwall at the Den, they'd be livid.

Everyone tries to play out from the back. It sounds like Rosenior wants to make us actually good at it and well-practiced in it. Sounds ideal to me. Blackburn last weekend were a good example, their keeper and back four were brilliant at playing it round us under pressure to get out. We've all seen how nervy it is when City have done it, particularly in the Shota days, but I think that's because it was being done poorly, perhaps due to a lack of good coaching behind it. Talk is cheap of course but it sounds like we're going to commit to a style of play and make sure we're good at it.

Just watched the highlights.... How the hell is that a red card... Oscar is facing his own goal when the ball comes to him and in front of their player. He's every right to go for the ball...

it would also be useful to mix up occasional likeMwall did when Long kicked it up and out to their fast players which neatly worked

I loved George for us but I think that’s true - Flemming looks a class act (from behind the goal I was sure his free kick was in, and I think Baxter thought that too).

Red looked a tad harsh. Wouldn't have been a red if one of theirs had laid out one of ours. Yellow at worse for dangerous play.
