'But he won't go for £8 million. Sunderland would give us £16 million, for a start! ' As if Defoe would want to move to Sunderland??! He's a London lad and look at the grief Crunchie got from his missus just by moving to Stoke (mind you my wife would be devastated too if we had to live in Stoke).
its all very well saying we need a goalscorer but the fact is we dont create many chances in and around the box. even last year we didnt create what you would call a champions quota!!!!!!
That's an important factor, especially as Defoe will not create his own chances. If he's not supplied, he won't score. It's as simple as that.
Look! Just because I live with my mum, own a blow-up doll, and watch repeats of Star Trek on the Sci-Fi Channel does not mean that you can stereotype me as a Billy-No-Mates. And, anyway, how did you know my name was Billy?
Yeah, she's right minx. Not much of a talker, but she does have real hair. I'm not sure whose hair. I only hope it wasn't a bloke's.
Football premier-league: Bothroyd urges QPR to press ahead with move for 'world class' Defoe | Radio talkSPORT QPR striker Jay Bothroyd is backing the club's bid to sign Tottenham and England forward Jermain Defoe. Rangers manager Neil Warnock has made it a priority to bring in a proven goalscorer to solve a drought that has seen the Hoops net just 10 times in 11 league games this season - and Defoe is being tipped as his primary target. The 29-year-old England striker has been out-of-favour with Harry Redknapp after the signing of Emmanuel Adebayor on-loan from Manchester City, and has made his desire for first-team action known in a bid to make Fabio Capello's England squad at Euro 2012. And Bothroyd believes a slot up front with him at Loftus Road would be the perfect place for Defoe should he opt to leave White Hart Lane. "There's been talk of Jermain Defoe," Bothroyd said. "He's a world class striker and a proven goalscorer in the Premiership. He'd be welcome. "I played with him when I was younger, at under-15 level, and he's a different sort of player to me. Of course I'd like to link up with him but it's hypothetical at the moment. “ He's a world class striker and a proven goalscorer in the Premiership. He'd be welcome. ” Jay Bothroyd "I haven't spoken to him about coming here yet," he said. "But I'll leave that to the manager - he's pretty good at persuading people." Bothroyd, also 29, joined QPR from Cardiff City on a free transfer as one of Warnock's many summer signings this year, and he agrees with Warnock's view that the squad is in need of a number of new faces to keep them in the Premier League. "I think we need four or five new players, not just a new striker," Bothroyd added. "Every team needs to have competition for places. If better players come in, the stronger the squad is and there's more cause for staying in the Premier League. "It's a squad game now. Having 11 players doesn't keep you in the Premier League, nor does it win you the Premier League." http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-n...-urges-qpr-press-ahead-move-world-class-defoe
Hmmmm... did Bothroyd really say all that! Hard to believe. If he did there's not much being kept indoors nowadays, or it's just spin hiding other targets!
