a poor performance..man management, effort and running that extra mile for the badge and believing in the manager only goes so far. were seriously in need of some quality, hence why were being found out .
Wow, what a really disappointing result. The wheels seemed to of fallen off since MB decided to stay. Can’t understand why our form has dropped but this one really hurts.
Is Richards injured again ? Him and Roberts look like 2 wasted loans unfortunately. We really should've brought in a front man and someone better than Roberts who can create. Oh and players that aren't injured every week would help !
Unlike many I thought we had a decent 30 minutes in the 1st half and played some lovely one touch football but lacking a final pass. Johansen was a huge miss in this and other respects. Once Albion scored there was only ever going to be one winner given their mastery of gamesmanship and our lack of cutting edge. Ref was atrocious even by Championship standards.
I think we have looked at our best when we had the 3 forward players, all mobile around the pitch, all difficult to know when to pick up or follow. None of them strikers but we didn't seem to need one set up like that. I like Dykes and he brings a certain dimension to the team but all too often it becomes very predictable. Plays straight through the middle, easy to mark and if willock and Chair don't go beyond him then he becomes rather pointless.
Should we have had a penalty near the end for the challenge on Albert? Looked like it to me, but we're a long way away.
It looked like a nailed-on penalty. Adomah was going to attempt a header on goal, he wouldn't have gone down unless he was fouled.
So just about got over yesterday. I had to drive, as the last train to my home from London left at 4! Over 2 hours to get in, nearer 3 to get home. ( normally just under an hour). However I did meet Finglas ( who I haven't seen in years) on the concourse.and Col and son...which was lovely. The match..we started slow, but got better. Thought we would score after HT, but Field gave away a free just outside the penalty area..and it was an easy goal. We didn't really threaten but Adomeh was fouled ...we should have had penalty. Dickie was poor throughout. He gave the ball away, and he does not have Barbet ability to play a killer ball out of defence, and he shouldn't try to bring it out at his feet either. Balogan gave the ball away at start but got better. Full backs were OK. Amos was OK, Tim and his long twizzle legs saved us more than once, and looked dangerous going forward. But there was no connection and no invention..we miss Johanssen. Willock was off the pace, he made a few good runs. Chair did lead by effort, but he was pretty much controlled. Dykes worked his socks off but with no service was ineffective. We didn't deserve to win.... but it was a penalty. Then came the nightmare drive home, and the excess of alcohol. Rangers you have a lot to make up to me on Tuesday
It was great to meet you too Beth and Col. I had a nightmare of a journey to Stansted in a taxi after the game. It took over 2 hours. Just made my flight. Collapsed into the bed at midnight after been up since 3am. After that performance......I question my sanity .
Haven't posted on this thread either during or after the game as didn't see any of it as I was in a&e all yesterday afternoon with very aged mother.... low oxygen levels in the blood.... won't hear a word about the state of emergency departments as they were nothing but kind and considerate..... it's no fun being old..... That result yesterday was so very much a R's result, don't know why we should be surprised.... onwards and upwards on Tuesday
Tramore, sorry to hear that ..hope you mother is out again and making a recovery... Football is not that important in the real world.
I hope your Mum was well taken care of Tramore … and that she improves and is back to her old self very soon.
Sorry to here Tramore that your mum is not well. Wishing her a speedy recovery and am sure that she will receive the deserved care from the NHS medics. All the best to her.
Hope your mother gets better soon pal. I expect the state of a+e departments depends on where you are, if your in certain parts of London I'm afraid they're not great. With the possibility of strikes from nurses and ambulance drivers on the horizon, things could become very grim indeed.
