Err Summerville turned 21 this week. Seriously Ell you need to up your research game, telling everyone we are playing an FA Cup game next week, and now reducing Summerville's age by 2 years, anyone would think you were an estate agent with all these incorrect facts
When we’re playing well I’m more glued to the game, when we’re playing as poor as we did in the first half I’ve more time to post. Read a few other posts, pick up on a few who call the players and team **** I call the odd player out when they are having a stinker but my line of thought is decent squad being coached poorly I want three points from every game, the neighbours 4 doors down would have heard me screaming when the 4th went in. I wanted us to win today, I’d love to be proved wrong by Jesse but that first half happens too often. Six points and keep his job, no points and lose it, I’d always pick 6 and keep it if that was the two options, I’d prefer the brave decision 6 points and still look to replace him
I could watch that all night!!! What a run by Gnonto and a superb finish by Jimmy Jimmy. He wasn't very old Though he was very small He did what he was told Jimmy, Jimmy Jimmy, Jimmy ooh Jimmy, Jimmy
Jimmy is 21 but apparently yes they’ve become buddies. Both deserve a pint (probably of sparkling water) tonight.
Not singling you out fella. Everyone was slagging him and the team… but are normally also more emotive when we score. Trust me, I’m not drawing a direct comparison but it just reminded me a little bit of Leedslovers fist pumping posts when one of his favourites scored and depressed matter of fact statements if woods or bamford scored Don’t disagree about some of the performances
That was one of the stand outs for me. Gelhardt, Greenwood, Summerville and Gnonto passing it between themselves, doing little triangles in Bournemouth’s half running down the clock. That’s how you do it - none of this rolling around feigning injury. Wise heads on young shoulders.
greenwood was outstanding … super composed finish, but all round game was great. Some humble here to doc who sang his praises continually - I thought he lacked the pace to do anything at top level. One swallow doesn’t make a summer but that’s a few good performances now. Maybe a plus also for Jesse for playing him deeper. Gnonto ( or tonto as Merson was calling him is clearly not ready fella
Greenwood showed today that he can strike a ball better than anyone at the club. The frustrating thing with him was that for the u21's a free kick 25 yard out is nearly as good as a penalty to him but with the first team he has always blasted it high and wide. Today he seemed to mature a bit, relax and strike the ball like we know he can. Those corners were evil! I agree with Milky (as usual). He isn't good or quick enough to be a striker at this level. He's not creative enough in open play to be a playmaker at this level. I genuinely think Marsch has found a way to get him on the pitch to utilise his dead ball deliveries and his ability to strike the ball from distance. He's big enough and clever enough to transition in to a Roca type player or even a box to box type. It's a great spot by Marsch and it might have saved his job today.
That 1st half was a shyte show let's be honest we were very lucky not to be dead and buried. Defensively on a turnaround we are truly horrific at times. but as someone said the other week that's our style press high get caught there are big danger signs. it's how we play and we have to get used to it. it's heart in mouth moments nearly every time. when we went 3-1 down just after halftime it was over for me, I never saw 3 more goals from us in that performance but after that goal we took a stranglehold of the game got the fans back on side and somehow turned it around. Another game I can't even sum up or even want too. there was so much wrong out there but there also was some good stuff along with a fight a hunger a want to win attitude in that 2nd half. The subs made a big difference never been a fan of Greenwood not in a way that I don't like him, he just doesn't jump out to me from taking a starting 11 place but he caught my eye today and that was a special first goal from the lad which kickstarted our comeback. Gnoto on the other hand takes my eye every time I see him and that was an awesome cameo from him out there today. Congrats to the boys on that 2nd half but less said about the 1st. I'm just so bloody happy we won which has hidden some of that shyte show from that first half. Where do we go from here? I don't think anyone can be confident of knowing where it will finish so let's buckle up and enjoy the ride along with all the ups and downs as that's how our season is gonna be We are Leeds United we never do anything easy. Enjoy your weekend Lads and Lasses.
I'm still fuming with the defending. If a defender goes to attack the ball, one of the others should cover behind. We just don't do it.
except that's not what your post said until you went through and made numerous edits to people who quoted your incorrect statement Also it may be wise that if you are going to edit posts, so that it doesn't appear that you made a mistake, that you edit the information correctly given that Gnonto is 19 today
IMO Marsch made some good substitutions, who steadied the ship. I also think Bournemouth were not going to be able to keep the pace for 90 minutes. Summerville was great. He won us the penalty, and calmly slotted away the way, just like he did against Liverpool last week. For a player with barely any first team experience, he's coming along really nicely, though I thought we went missing a bit at some points during the game. Greenwood did all the basics well, didn't give the ball away cheaply, and got in some great positions. And what about Gnonto. He was like the cog, that kept us ticking over, great passer of the ball, again, he didn't give the ball away cheaply, has great acceleration, and definitely what we'd call a thinking player. His assist for Summerville was inch perfect. Without the services of Bamford and Sinisterra, we've kept our scoring tally ticking over. We're scoring more goals, and conceeding less under Marsch than what we did under Bielsa. If Bielsa had been Manager, we would be seeing Klich and Tyler Roberts come on, and Summerville would not have had his opportunity. Youth are being given a chance under Marsch, and its great to see.
