Don’t understand our setup whatsoever.. Weimann back on the left, Vyner comes to the centre leaving miles of room for Boro to play into. Dreadful defending once again.. 1-1.. imo that’s partly setup leading to our failures
Yet for all the forward thinking players we have created next to nothing. This was a shocking team selection, it makes no sense, players in unfamiliar positions. Back to the dark days of early in NP’s reign.
So far off his player that he gave away for the gap to be used and wham bam thank you maam a goal for Middlesbrough. He has been doing the same thing all season but today he is having a stinker and should be dropped. Standing in line with the edge of your own penalty area when the opposition player is running 3 or 4 yards from the touchline gives way too much space and the defender will get eaten alive, and he did.
Look at the stats and you will see why we are next to hopeless as you will rarely win games with those figures.
I know there is still time for us to come good but ,in reality I can't see anything that can be considered better but rather just moving the wrong bricks into the wrong places.
Split apart like a knife through butter but thankfully they were offside. Semenyo off and he is not up to par lately so fair enough. DaSilva comes on for Antoine.
Max probably been our MoM, tells you everything you need to know.. Pring, Conway, Scott did well, disappointing from Semenyo and Vyners drifting out of position helped their equaliser.. Did well to get a point imo.. I believe we are looking over our shoulder and have to be careful with teams just the odd point behind us..
If we had won today it would have been a mugging of world class proportions, but we didn't and had to settle for a single point at the end. I thought our play was the usual shocking mixture of poor defending, poor passing and lack of finish at the front end. Without Max O'Leary (MOM for me) we could have gone down 4 or 5-1 but his goalkeeping was top class and no doubt earned us a valuable, but undeserved point. My point in an earlier reply is that to be perfectly blunt we are not progressing at any acceptable level and something has to change. The World Cup break is almost upon us and I think some teams may make changes at managerial level prior to the January transfer window to allow time to discuss what is needed going forward. I am very disappointed with where Nigel Pearson has taken us because I think that essentially it is going nowhere and I see the same old attempts to try and make us better falling flat on their proverbial backsides. I wonder what might be going through Steve Lansdown's mind after yet another series of disappointing results that have left us hovering over the drop zone? The promises and positivity coming out of the mouths of those that should matter don't give me any warm fuzzy feeling going into the depths of a bleak winter. Same old same old really.
Well done all, pissing down with rain but a point gained, special word for Max, fabulous effort mate.
