No you ain't No in all seriousness, he would still be the same old Torres at Liverpool right now IMO. He'd have nowhere near as much pressure as he does right now and tbh I think he'd fit in well with the current 'pool side!
I have split ideas about that actually. On the one hand he hadn't played consistently well for us for quite a while (partly due to injuries and partly I suspect due to his being a sulky little tart) but on the other hand I do wonder if the signing of Suarez may just have ignited him again. Ultimately we'll never know now but he's gone and I know one thing...you won't find many reds fans who'd swap Suarez for Torres happy days
True, but he was a player close to every Liverpool fans heart. Yes definitely not Surez for him, but Carroll. I don't really see Suarez as Torres' replacement, I think Carroll was more that.
The Torres roubles never bought El Pistolero so if El Travesti had decided to give us another season we'd have had one El of a forward line and Andy would still be a knockout merchant in Newcastle.
Suarez was being lined up to play with Torres no doubt about it. That's why it hurt more I suppose, was a bit of a knife in the back especially given the fact we were in a **** position at the time. Fortunately the rat deserting the sinking ship coincided with the ship getting back on an even keel You keep your Torres and we'll worship Suarez from now on...at least for as long as he's a Red anyway
With Torres I was gutted, he was talismanic but it became apparent that his head was turned a long time before he left. This leads me to be cautious with Suarez as, without CL, we are, to many a player, a second-rate football club not offering european football. Back to the OP's point, Biscan was a player I hated and yet has now got cult value. I really wanted Diouf to succeed but he was/is a massive tool. Lucas had divided opinion but has shone through.
Dave??? **** I must've had a tough week in work if your mistaking me for the old fart that is 4dickdave
