He has only one joke and it isn’t remotely funny. I think that’s his something.

I’m hoping for the new manager bounce, a draw wouldn’t be a disaster with Rosie just getting the job officially yesterday, only a couple of days training & trying to get his new way of playing into them in such a short space of time.
I’m expecting a narrow loss tomorrow, but like under Daws, a performance that’s an improvement on the lucky early games of the season.

one of the absolute beauties of the championship is pretty much any team who has a good second half of the season
can go from relegation to the playoffs
this season is incredibly close all through the table

so we could get playoffs just as likely as we are to go down
but until the relegation zone is more than a few games worth of points away
we just need to pickup as much points as possible
no matter how we do it

Train strike is now off tomorrow so hopefully that means South Bermondsey station and walkway open.

Although the strike is off there is still likely to be a lot of disruption.

I think 'a draw wouldn't be a disaster' is definitely an understatement! They bullied us in the second half last time we went there at Easter, and we've been bullied far too often since. We have shown more resilience under Daws but not consistently. Interesting to see whether Rosie can take that up a level tomorrow.

I think we’ll see something more compact, shore us up till Xmas and then he can spend three weeks getting us sorted out/getting our key players back.

There’s a chance Salah might be fit for the bench tomorrow, be great to see him.

Salah's an attacking midfielder though right? Not sure how another one of those can really help us much.

New manager bounce and without the pressure of playing at home this will be a city win

Considering our final ball has been appalling, I think I'd be willing to see absolutely anything different in our approach play at this moment.

It's weird cos, you're right, our play around the edge of the penalty area is awful at times, the last two home games particularly. But the available personnel in those positions are very strong so it's not really crossed my mind that we need people like Salah fit particularly. I think we obviously lack attacking wide options who can create from the wings; it'd be handy if Sinik could start to make an impact.

Yeah, I think Sinik needs a run of games, as an out and out winger I think he would do well, but we’ve been so terrible that he’s been thrown on when the game is pretty much gone. I think he will come good, but he will have to push somebody else out and unless he lights up training, he doesn’t look like doing that at the moment.

    I wish I had Big Been’s tenacity.

    There’s a lot to admire.

ps typos to be sorted in the mourning

If our players were so committed to playing football as Vern is tonposting about bumming, we’d be pissing the league.

May not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I like him.
