Not really sure why that is a controversial view. Pretty much everyone expects us to lose and we more than likely will.

Ronnie, you're right about our chances, but I get irritated by Sutton's dismissive view of Saints' abilities. He always goes into detail about the opposition, then says 'Saints are up and down', with no further analysis.

However, as a Saints fan, I expect us to win every game. Deluded? Moi?

Draw I reckon. Know they won last year's fixture but they've got a ****e record down here and with Liverpool next we should be hyped up to get a result here.

Allan Saint Maximin is back in training for the Geordies, according to my Geordie neighbour.
With our lack of a “proper” RB I would prefer ASM to still be injured, tbh.

Best hope for a draw. Think Newcastle have a good defined method of play, that unfortunately is what we don’t do well against. Also very strong at the back and we are impotent in front of goal at the best of times. Hope for 0-0 expect 0-2

If we can beat Chelsea at home we can beat Newcastle at home. When we're at home unless we're playing City, anyone's "best hope" has to be a win really. Otherwise, what's the point in watching? And before people start shouting at me saying I'm being unrealistic, note the word HOPE not EXPECTATION. Two entirely different things.

I make you right, only I fear Guimareis and Almiron. Need Maitland-Niles on the pitch and on his A Game for this one.

There was a pigeon on the pitch for quite some time against West Ham as well. If he could kindly fly across Pope as Che has a shot that would be most helpful. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Some promising news if not as much as we would like. But progress.

“In contention “? Ralph’s been pretty good with the minds games recently, with us anyway. I’m not sure the opposition fall for it tho. We’ll see.

I've got a mental image of Che smashing a shot and both ball and pigeon flying into the stands. <laugh>
