This is T20 anything can happen and Australia are hardly one of the elite teams at this form of the game. You are also underestimating Afghanistan. They'll be ready to win a world cup in another 10 year.

They've run Australia very close here. Afghanistan have been improving year on year, they've got the best spin bowler in the world in this form of the game and they've got 3 batsmen that would walk into most teams in the world. Their fielding and game management is terrible but that will continue to improve with experience.
