The Chelsea captain was said to be shocked when a recording of a heated phone call from 2003 appeared on YouTube earlier this week, which was presented as evidence of racist behaviour following the allegations surrounding last monthâs clash with QPR. The recording included the same racial slur that the 30-year-old allegedly aimed at Anton Ferdinand when his side lost 1-0 at Loftus Road last month. The defender hasnât denied the conversation, but the version that was uploaded had been digitally altered to make it sound as though what Terry said was racist, and has since been removed after Essex Police intervened. The England international was furious with the attempt to tamper evidence, and called the police to verify his claims, who have since told reporters: "We believe that the recording has been edited and the matter is now closed.â Terry is still fighting to save his name following the allegations as the FA and the Metropolitan Police launch their investigations, with his place in the England squad at risk if he is found guilty.
The issue for me is , how much is this long drawn out matter in the media affecting JTs game? Until the matter has been finally put to bed by police and media, he is likely to be hounded especially in away fixtures, and it surely will affect his game.
Agreed. It has to be in everyone's interest to get this sorted ASAP. 2 Weeks on and nothing seems to have happened really.
not saying if he is guilty but when he keeps saying he is shocked and stunned that people might think he is capable of such a thing, he loses all credibility - i would not be at all shocked if he said it given his past behaviour - again i am not saying he is guilty but we shouldn't be all that shocked if it turns out to be true
Fair enough, first person who's given a legitimate opinion on it. I (and I'm sure many others) don't mind what people THINK, it's when people slam the hammer down and class him as guilty.
Mostly all footballers are stupid and **** like this shouldn't really shock anyone. The fact is they are the lowest common denominator by and large and all clubs have them, nothing new but what are most people expecting?
