CARDIFF CITY v WATFORD Cardiff City Stadium Wednesday 2nd November 2022 Kick Off : 1945 GMT please log in to view this image Watford travel to South Wales to face Cardiff City on Wednesday evening looking to record their fourth victory in five Championship outings. At a time when the Hornets occupy seventh position in the table, Cardiff are 17th after returning to winning ways at the weekend. After scoring four times against the Hatters, Watford were required to produce a different kind of performance against the Latics, not scoring the only goal of the game until Joao Pedro netted with three minutes remaining. Having failed to score in August, the Brazilian has now contributed in successive games, and Bilic will feel that Watford can only continue to improve with the forward performing at his best. please log in to view this image Bilic's side make the trip to Wales to play a team who have the 12th-best home record, yet that does not necessarily tell the whole story. Cardiff have conceded just four times in eight outings on home territory, their fifth clean sheet at their home ground coming during the 1-0 win over Rotherham United at the weekend. With Mark Hudson hoping to retain the managerial position on a long-term basis, a positive result was imperative with Cardiff having previously lost three times in succession. Now sitting four points clear of the relegation zone, the Bluebirds can now play with a greater sense of freedom, but this team have only netted more than once in a game in their last eight outings. Team News Hamza Choudhury is suspended after collecting his fifth yellow card at the weekend. Dan Gosling could return to central midfield, allowing for Mario Gaspar to take his spot at right-back. Just met with Bilic - injury update is that there are doubts over both Kalu and Bayo, plus Cathcart and Davis won’t be fit. Andrew French Oh dear, here we go again.
Probably all be fit when the break comes though ! The only one who doesn’t seem to get injured is Sema . Everyone else has had some sort of issue.
Sorry all, but doubt we'll win tonight now. Seems the players' minds will be on the trip to Alicante in the Costa Blanca, in south-east Spain.
I will have to be a silent partner today as I am playing boardgames on line with friends at the same time so multi-tasking will mean I have to concentrate and suppress my emotions. Enjoy the game all COYH
