It's time mate, so busy updating topics on there, Also my work/social schedules are as busy as ever. I have an indoor bowls match this afternoon plus another two games later on this week, then the Bournemouth match on Saturday. My dairy looks like a bomb has hit it.
Love Rasmas, why the hell he was dropped for Ayling vs Fulham is beyond belief, especially as our new Bremner/Batty/Phillips was missing from the midfield due to an injury. Koch & Adams were immense, hardly put a foot/head wrong, our German international is our best CB by a country mile this season with Adams our best summer signing imo! Jack frustrates the hell out of me, no end product. Summerville & Gnonto showed him how it's done.
Cooper 9, sorry but can’t award him that with the two massive fck ups, the first could of ended up as a goal, we then would of been on the back foot throughout the game, the second one was pub football level, 7 at the most and that’s being generous. Roca is getting better every game, he rattled Fabinho early on with a good hard challenge, the Brazilian wasn’t interested after that. Bamford 5 can play behind closed doors, crowd around him he goes to pieces, has to be dropped. So for me Harrison can go to bar codes for a sh1t load of money, get a striker in, I would go for Origi ex victimpool, he’s not getting games at Milan I’m led to believe. If we can get by with the LB situation with Struijk and them Dallas great, then big clear out in the summer. Let’s be fair the team is stronger than last season, Adams …..excellent Aaronson….. excellent Kristensen….. starting to settle in nicely. above were JM picks and requested them from Orta. Roca & Gnonto are Orta signings also good buys I think so hopefully JM can keep building let’s see.
My initial thoughts when I watched the game live. I watched a replay of the game on LUTV & I was amazed how many headers, blocks, clearances Coops won & made, yes Meslier saved his bacon as he did for Harrison & Rodrigo, but overall Cooper had a very solid game
FFS, six packs everywhere!!! Anyone remember any other Leeds team photo where someone had a six pack? I can't! A few budding barrels, perhaps. Tubby Tommy springs to mind.
Ayling had offered more going forward in his cameos. Rasmus who we thought was an attacking full back has done nothing offensively in however many games. He’s also shown decision making/positional issues… Leicester 2nd goal… Switched off for Saleh’s goal too. He may also have paid the price for his 50% pass completion rate against Leicester. Or maybe it was Simply 3 games in a week so a good time to freshen up on the more 50:50 selection calls. Goal apart, he did well on Saturday, and in general there are signs he’s adjusting to the PL, but apart from a bit of fist pumping, he’s the signing that’s brought the least to the party so far.
Something was said by Marsch and/or Kristensen a few weeks back regarding his form. Rasmus has form for slow starts at a club. He tends to struggle every time he steps up but works hard to rectify it. Apparently he has admitted he is surprised by the jump in quality of the PL and that he can't seem to influence games like he normally would. He's seeking extra help with this from the coaches and putting in extra sessions to see where he can improve. He's admitted he is not where he wants to be performance wise. The good news is he has always got over the struggle to become a key player everywhere he has played. He's improving every game at the moment.
…. Yeh I read that, Emu. Mentioned Something about having 20 ‘positive actions’ a game at Salzburg and struggling to have 2/3 in the Prem. Good thing is having the attitude to do what it takes to surmount it, which he seems to have. Sometimes of course there’s a talent/physical ability ceiling that’s stops it, but hey… Signs are he’s stepping up a bit. Great cross for the Aaronson chance
I love the fact that he celebrates a last ditch tackle like he's scored a goal. That stuff is infectious in a squad. Can be inspirational to those around you. It's a great attribute to have.
Absolutely - for a defender, it's the equivalent of scoring a goal so why not. Wish he had fewer of them to do mind He's clearly passionate about his work - to be fair most of the lads seem to be. Great to see after the anfield game how much it means to them. Different mindset for Bournemouth where our boys come into a possibly edgy Elland Road, knowing it s a game they should/need to win
Rasmus did not switch off for Salehs goal. He was left to mark two liverpool players. So which one in hindsight should he have picked to get tight to. There is no answer to that question.
I'd have been moderately ok if he'd picked up either of them to be honest. I think the problem was he was at the back post for the corner so we ended up with two full backs on one side. But he gets drawn to the ball unnecessarily after saleh lays the ball back to AA - which was Struijk's job. Rasmus let Saleh, jog past him. By the time he spots the danger as the ball comes back in, he's too late. There's an argument that adams should have got back to help out... as Dorigo said in LUTV commentary. Loads of white shirts, nobody marking anyone. Also an argument if you're being picky that Meslier should have cut out the first cross and not fallen behind his line for the shot. But hey, they all more than redeemed themselves
