I think someone said it while ago that sometimes he doesn’t look like he knows what he’s going to do so how are defenders meant to know? Felt similar with Suarez. Would just run at people and get deflections and bobbled fall perfectly for him, looks lucky but happened so often that was obviously skill involved. He’s big, powerful and runs a lot and puts himself about. Even when not on form he still forced a defender to defend rather than going missing in a way that Salah or firmino can do when off form.
Suarez once said that defenders didn't know what he was going to do because he didn't know himself. It was all instinct and quick reactions.
Yeah, I thought he'd done well up to then. He seemed willing to explain his decisions to players - which is a good thing - but he had a bit of a moment there.
Now if only we could move Liverpool to the continent. We could be league leaders somewhere this year.
If we had konate and not the stay back Joe gomez we would have done better. Tsimikas takes a better corner than robertson imo also. They were flatter and more attachable.
Anyone but Madrid next round is fine by me. Ancelotti unfortunately has klopp's number. Chances are we'll get Bayern because dortmund and Leipzig will probably finish 2nd in their groups along with Frankfurt, limiting the teams that Bayern can draw.
No I think he was right. The European refs are better than prem refs. They have spotted this and are protective. The prem refs won't do a thing without a directive. Trent left the ball thst went out, kicked the ball off the cone near him. Dribbled it out on the pitch amd kicked it away so there were two balls on the park. Trent knows what he's done there, no need to do it and it's a new form of time wasting not covered under directives as players are cheats. Refs seen it and done him. How the hell thier no 9 didn't get a card for his antics I dont know but that's separate. The ref booked konate and fabinho and let them off then to fould about 5 or 6 times with no mention of a second yellow. I think we got a bit lucky there as well
I stepped in to put my money where my mouth was fully expecting my attempt at a match thread to be a one-off given the game it was covering
Of course he did because it was their throw in. He had no need to chase the ball down. He got a spare ball for them to take their throw, if anything to save time. Kicked it onto the pitch for them to pick up and take.not realising they already had a ball for the throw in and kicked it away once he saw the throw had been taken.
