    1. It was their 'reserve team'.

    2. The officials were against them.

    3. 'Arry wasn't there.

    4. It's a naff competition anyway.

    5. Ruben have beaten Barca.

feel free to add your favourite

If it wasn't for Cudicini Spurs would have been on the end of a spanking last night.
One place above Shamrock Rovers and struggling to qualify from the Europa group.

Verdict - slightly better than Shamrock Rovers...

They didn't even have a clear shot at goal all night - a draw 0-0 would do.

I watched Fulham last night and it was one of the best games I've seen in a while. There was a real desire to win which was shown by their squad selection and attitude throughout. On the flipside I honestly don't know why Spurs are bothering with this competition if they clearly don't give a ****. This is a major European trophy after all and, whilst not the Chumps league, is a chance to really advertise your club to the world. It's hardly the Carling Cup.

I saw the first half of their game before I went to play football myself and to say they were **** is an insult to all the jizz in the world out there. I don't say this to disparage (well not much) as it was a very young, inexperienced side but there was only going to be one result when playing against a good side like Rubin. Apparently they were even worse in the second half so that can't be doing the kids many favours with their confidence. If they care that little though then shouldn't they just offer to opt out?!

I have as much interest in this competition as 'Arry, the 1-0 defeat is not a huge shock to me....

Spurs deserved to lose last night. They showed utter disrespect to a very good team, by fielding the team they did. I hope it proves their downfall

Actually I want them to stay in Europa league for as long as possible without winning it. Extra fatigue, extra injuries. Any advantage that can help us in the fight for fourth spot, should be taken.

I don't like Spurs attitude to the Europa league.

They've had one season EVER of Champion's League football - and suddenly it's not good enough for them?

This young team you talk about:

Cudicini, Gallas, Bassong, Pienaar, Pavlyuchenko, and Defoe as starters .... not that young/inexperienced.

I don't think Spurs did anything wrong, at the end of the day the team lost 1-0, ok, I hear they got whopped, but the scoreline says they almost got a point away from home.

Clearly Harry's priority is getting in to the CL again - fair enough I say.

No excuse needed. They put a weak side out in a comp they don't care about against a good team (Rubin are no pushovers after all) and honestly didn't come close to winning.

I'm not sure there are any Spurs fans losing sleep over this result or competition at all.

Can't be bothered, you asked where the quotes came from, now you know, kind of shot yourself in the foot. Eh

Don't give it out if you can't take it.

BTW this wasn't posted on the Spuds forum so you've obviously been trawling on here.

    Exactly.

What part of my post was "giving it out"? <doh>

It is rather amusing that the you Gooners have suddenly got a bit braver now they have a couple of wins under your belt. Lets face it, you've been using the same excuses for years :D

    Literally the next line:
"No complaint about the result, great performance from Cudicini and a bit of work needed on our squad in January."

    Next paragraph:
"We didn't deserve anything out of the game".

Don't let the truth get in the way of you talking crap though, eh?

What were your excuses for getting stuffed by us again this time?
