It would never apply to those genuinely disabled, and it doesn't get more genuine than having MS. Sadly, there are many for whom life on benefits topped up by some work in the black economy is a way of life, sometimes handed down through generations. Needs to change.
I don't doubt that, infact I've come across a few just recently but I don't think it's as big a problem as it used to be, far from it infact.
You might be right Bob, and it might not be as big an issue as I think….however my many visits to the local Estates I cover tell me otherwise. As always, I only say what I see
I'm not disputing your claims Staines, but short of delving into each individuals circumstances as to why they don't/can't work, then the numbers of true/false claimants is guess work.
You're more than welcome to pop up here and watch the junkie scum rolling about the streets and making the local shopping centre look like a scene out of Night of the Living Dead
See a few of them in my local town and I'm sure you will agree, they aren't capable of brushing their teeth, nevermind working.
Hard to believe they could come up with someone even more disgusting than Priti Patel. An utterly disgraceful performance in the Commons yesterday.
Grim language. The good old days when machine gunning the Channel wouldn’t have been a popular policy.
Controlled immigration can certainly be positive. Uncontrolled, large scale immigration can be highly damaging, imo, because it makes assimilation impossible, particularly with certain groups like Muslims that have a propensity to maintain their culture to the exclusion of all others. Multi-culturalism only works if it is an adjunct to a common British culture. Where it is not, and becomes like oil and water, resentment occurs in local communities. Words like "invasion" and "swamp" may be ill-chosen, but they are a response to serious changes occurring in our society. We must have controlled immigration into the UK, and I fully support Braverman in her role to bring illegal immigration to an end. The longer it carries on, the more likely we will see the rise of the far right, which is not in anyone's interests.
