mancini commented that his football iq was well ahead of his years.. The boro game was a funny one - slippy pitch, blowing a hooly. No one looked good. It was just ironic, and perhaps coincidental, that we replaced gyabi and gnonto and were much better in the second half.
Reckon, best we can hope for is 8 points. Likely we’ll get 6 or 7. I realise we consistently tend to shoot ourselves in the foot, and my suggested points reflect that. I obviously would prefer far more, and perhaps the confidence from Saturday evening might eke out one or two more points than suggested. Let’s hope so. MOT
I was just asking, you said if every player had a howler and were dropped we'd be playing 5 a side, not every player has a howler but Bamford up front does it regularly he's shot to pieces and should be dropped, we've been crying out for a striker for years now. How long do you keep him in the team?
I know you were only asking a straightforward question fella. I was trying to answer it - didn’t intend it to come across as arsey. . Maybe I need to take some male menopause meds as I appear to be rattling a few cages recently no-one has shouted louder for a new striker in recent windows than me, and my conclusion in the response was that if joffy was fit he should prob now be the bench option with rod as the starter.
M'mm but Bamford came on against Liverpool and we went on to win the game. Second half against Arsenal we battered them and created chance after chance...again with Bamford on the pitch. Better movement and positioning from Paddy helps the team as a whole...errr maybe.
I know, I know. That was my point to Olof, it’s not straightforward. Who’d be a manager? speaking of which, gaffer, need any stats making up?
I didn't think you were coming across arsey mate, so no problem from me maybe initially i should have asked how long would you stick with Bamford, or should I say how long should Marsch stick with him, maybe bringing him on as a sub is his way of trying to get him back to some kind of form, but as we all know he's never been prolific and for me he misses too many easy chances in front of goal, great win on Saturday but if we'd have lost I think there may have been a bit of a backlash against him especially after the **** up when he was put through and should have done a lot better
Only because he ****ed up with a mis kick to let summerville in to show him how to put the ball in the net Would you seriously stick with him Jammy?
With only 2 PL games until the break for the WC then obviously yes. Then we see where everyone is regarding form and fitness upon the resumption
Cats out of the bag - he’s going to sack me when he realises I just trump up all these xg stats to prove my point - on the basis I know nobody can be arsed to check them,
I may agree with you if we were in a better position in the league coming up to the break, but I believe we can't afford to carry passengers like Bamford who can't do his job even from the penalty spot
it’s a fair point fella. I feel you have to show loyalty to players you believe are important when they hit a bad run of form… but how long do you let it go? If he was a race horse they’d have put him down after that touch from the pass from Summerville.
Exactly mate, how long can your loyalty last when you're fighting for your Premiership lives, and in Marsch' case, your job, tough one for the manager
I've occasionally give our star player a ten in one match (Pontus, Phillips, Pablo come to mind), but I've never given three 10/10's in one game. Three faultless performances from Meslier, Koch & Adams On the hand I 'm always concerned when players minuses outweigh their pluses, sadly that was case with Harrison & Rodrigo where the majority of our moves breakdown when they are on the ball. Meslier 10 Nine saves, commanded his box with authority & very brave at the end. Kristensen 9 Still scratching my head why our Big Dane was dropped for the Fulham game :duno: immense! Koch 10 Immaculate & a truly spectacular performance from Robin. Cooper 9 Apart from a couple of Liam type moments, Coops was superb winning lot of challenges Struijk 8.5 Pascal has made the LB position his own, surely the Dutch coach has noted his performances. Roca 9 Struck up an excellent partnership with the mighty Adams. Adams 10 What a signing, his second 10/10 from me, orchestrated our play with his intense energy & defensive skills. Tyler is as effective as Kalvin was in his pomp! Harrison 4 I don't get this defensive role Jack has supposedly played, he cocked-up badly in dangerous areas twice with Meslier saving his bacon on one occasion. Yes, going forward he runs with the ball but there was no end product as he either hung onto the ball far too long or fell over. His two long range shots were woeful & his corner in the second-half where he over-hit the ball missing every player on the box just about finished me off, probably Jesse too as he decided it was Gnonto time. Sorry I'm not getting the Jack love-in. Summerville 9 OMG! what a second-half from Crysencio, he caused Van Dijk & Robertson all sorts of problems capping his display with a sublime finish. Rodrigo 6 An additional point for his gifted goal, anticipated well but my granny could have scored that goal. Once again we witnessed his usual suicide pass that nearly led to another goal but for a fine save from Meslier Aaronson 9 Relentless energy & tireless work rate from Brenden, at the heart of so much of our attacking play. Bamford 7 A couple of awful touches, one where his opportunity went missing, the other that led to our winning goal, nevertheless I still believe we look better going forward with Paddy on the pitch. Gnonto 8 Fabulous little cameo from our pocket dynamo, never put a foot wrong & played a big part in Summerville's goal.....Are you watching Jack? Ayling N/A Won two headers at the back in added-on time.
V Very promising from koch and rasmus and I agree about harrison. Fulham game he did exactly what you said in this game.
