Might be worth having a look at Vydra, not sure where he's up to with his recovery from injury but he's probably about as good as we'd get who'd be happy to be third choice. Think we've been linked before.

Yeah I have now read that... he does appear to be an arsehole, but good at free kicks... we need that...

As much as Elliot Embleton hopes to be starting at Huddersfield on Wednesday night, the Sunderland midfielder also wants to see the name of Ellis Simms on the team-sheet.

Simms’ arrival on the pitch at Luton at the weekend stretched the home defence and allowed Embleton to play in front of the opposition's back three.

It also gave him the opportunity to burst into space in the area to steer home Jack Clarke’s cross for the Sunderland equaliser.

Someone will pick up a good player when he is fit again. Ready made championship player.

fairly sure he can play as a wide forward too so could be in the broadhead mould just more experienced, would be happy with him even if an initial 6month to test fitness etc

Not sure we'd pay his wages - he would have been on a decent chunk at Burnley. Won't have played for 8 or 9 months by the time he's fit enough to train. Doesn't tick any of the boxes for me

He probably was on a bit at Burnley but he's a championship level player and we're a championship team so it seems reasonable.

By the time he's ready to play we'd have Stewart and Simms back and we'd be able to ease him back in, not really a problem for me. You'd have to say that he ticks the quality box at the least.

Yeah, he's got the quality but given his age and the injury it'd be a risk. I'd take him to end of the season, or on a pay as you play deal but I doubt he'd be interested on those terms. Much like Gayle at Stoke, his wage demands are likely to be way above what we'd pay

I'd guess that whoever goes after him would be offering until the end of the season with him being out so long, maybe with an option to extend thrown in. I don't see him commanding or asking for a particularly big wage but who knows.

I wouldn't be surprised if we had someone completely unexpected in mind but I'd say Vydra would be a solid signing for us and a good fit.

Don't understand how after the last decade this club has had some of our fans still think sacking the manager after one poor run of form (with multiple key players injured) is what we need.... Go and support Watford if you want more constant upheaval

I reckon there will be a 6'4" 19 year old in a French Academy somewhere who will join in Jan with a view to replacing Stewart in the summer - seems to be the way the club is operating now
