Drove himself to the game in a Rolls Royce (possibly a Cullinan). Arrived at about 2.45. Someone else drove it away at the end with Acun's family in the back so he may well have stopped over.
Money obviously talks, but that, to me anyway, has just tells me that he’d have had absolutely no loyalty to City if a bigger money offer came in. Yes I know we all go to work for money, but how much is enough? I don’t think Acun’s offer to him would have seen him renting a flat on Great Thornton Street, so I think we’ve swerved one there. At least with Rosie or Daws part of their heart is with the club, and that’ll do for me.
"So far, the experience has been very enjoyable," Stockdale told The Tiger. "I have always kept in touch with Andy (Dawson) through the years since we were teammates together. He invited me in last week to come and watch the Birmingham City game with a view to coming in and just being in and around the staff and the players. "We had a good week on the training pitch with the two away games as well. I could see the fans in those two away games and they were right behind the team and right behind the team and right behind Andy and Baz (Barry Richardson) that is the most important thing. "It is good to work with Daws again as I get to see him in a slightly different light to how he was a player, but I'm here to help in any way I can with all the staff and players. "I am experienced at coaching. I have done it a long time now and have worked under some fantastic managers as an assistant or first-team coach. I have also been a manager under my own right so I think I can look at things in a slightly different way and use questions to help Andy and Baz to get where they need to be. "It's a nice group of people to work for and if I can help in any way then great. My family are from Hull which is a strange link, so it has come full circle in some way. I am not sure how long the role will last, but I am just happy to help out where I can really."
So, Martins, money rather than accepting a challenge to reach the richest league. Interesting - does he really need the money? Not sure what a manager would get financially in the Greek league, but Qatar will probably be money for a very comfortable lifestyle for the rest of his life. A bit like LIV golf I suppose. If he looks out to sea, and soaks in the heat, it is likely to feel more like the Algarve than looking out at the Humber estuary would!!!
thats ****ing brilliant news!! It shows he hasn’t retired on medical grounds & they must be a way back for the lad
It is absolutely brilliant news, not just for the club but Josh himself... Lets hope if his medical problem was similar to Charlie Wyke who has just returned he goes on and makes a full recovery... and from a selfish perspective he's a proper player....
It's extremely small baby steps, but it's looking more positive then it has. The lad has been through hell and deserves every minute he can on the pitch
