It is amazing that this government can bounce from one crisis to another. Migrants Hacking of phone Unfortunate emails ( on now 6 occasions) Not going to COP. I thought RichT was suppose to bore everything down and get everything steady
The jobs are there now...and we can't fill them. Odd that, it is though we needed the migrant workers
I do agree to a big extent…..however the fact that there are a sizeable proportion of indigenous British people who think they should be paid by the state to sit on their arses and do **** all, while being a drain in society…shouldn’t be forgotten. The blame should not just be put on migrants, who are often, I have personally found, hard working individuals who find themselves used by unscrupulous business owners.
Yes, we need seasonal workers and rules can be loosened for them, so long as they don't get permanent leave to remain, and they don't disappear into the black economy.
Agree, immigrants are often very hard working. But we can't bring them in and leave our spongers at home. They need to work for their money. This does not apply to genuine benefit claimants, genuine disabled etc
And nurses and delivery drivers and sewage workers and care workers and abattoir workers and shop workers and GPs and hospital doctors Looking on the web comes with this list... I wonder how these lot can work seasonally and then go home Here is a list of 10 occupations where, according to the REC and industry data, worker shortages are among the most acute: • HGV drivers - 100,000+ • Nurses - 79,123 • Programmers and software development professionals - 68,929 • Care workers and home carers - 49,751 • Primary and nursery education teaching professionals - 30,574 • Chefs - 29,996 • Sales and retail assistants - 26,183 • Cleaners & domestics - 24,148 • Metal working production and maintenance fitters - 19,748 • Carpenters and joiners - 6,364 Other roles highlighted with high vacancy rates include veterinary nurses, ambulance drivers and postal workers.
There may be a case for taking some skilled people. We have 1 1/2 million unemployed who could do unskilled work. There's a dirth of HGV drivers across Europe anyway. We cannot keep taking large numbers of migrants. There aren't the houses. There aren't the services. And as we may be entering a deep recession, first focus should be on people in hardship in this country especially the homeless.
That could have always been a priority and your lot have spent twelve years doing **** all about it as it got worse.
I wonder what this number of lazy bastards is? I also wonder what circumstances they might have? My wife can't work, gets very little state help despite being diagnosed with MS and now a blood disorder. There are many who can't work mate and I think that sizeable number you state may not be that sizeable at all when you look at individual circumstances.
Absolutely take that Bob, and I can only speak from personal experience. The sad fact of the matter, one that I find anyway, is that there are many who don’t work, won’t work and are happy to take state benefits while contributing nothing. I can only say what I see.
I don't doubt there is but do you know all their personal circumstances. If you saw my Mrs, you wouldn't think anything was wrong with her. That's the point I'm making.
