A break? I'd rather have a kit-kat.
If Blackburn are top. I wouldn't like to see the bottom. Just a minute!

Ps. City's home form is crap. 5 defeats in 6. Needs to be addressed ASAP by whoever comes in. Assuming that was Daws last game.
The problem at home is, just now we do not have the strikers. Teams all come to do what BR did, keep a clean sheet and maybe nick a goal. We need our other forward options to get fit, or we need to bring another striker in

Others have mentioned it but Christ the ref was hard work today. It's been bad all season at home but today was a new high for one-sidedness. I'd love to know what the reason is that we get so many free kicks against us every game. Are we really that dirty? Is it just that we're an easy crowd to give decisions against? That entire second half we had all the ball but the only free kick we got in their half was one out on the wing near the halfway line. That's unheard of when a team has so much of the ball and is pressing for a goal. A few times towards the end there were 50/50s flying in and I thought surely he'll take this opportunity to give us one and redress the balance slightly, but no. I know we're all biased towards our own team and think the ref is against us but I don't know how you could see it any other way today, it was just incredible.
Think we get pulled up a lot because as I’ve said before because our players are often slow or late to the tackle especially our small midfield hence we ‘catch’ their players after they’ve played the ball . In reply to Chas’s pity for Figs having too much distribution to do , if a pro player can’t pass a ball reliably or quick enough how did he get to be pro !
Admittedly our midfield didn’t show for it too much in the first half .

It’s hardly a high up in a centre half’s priorities is it
That’s my point
And the midfield didn’t show enough second half either

taking your point to the extreme
Woods should be able to play centre forward then or Fleming right wing
Seri went off no none replaced him well enough did they
Why not?

I took your point literally to excuse him from being reliable enough to pass a ball out reasonably accurately or at least to keep posession - he wasn’t being expected to play out of position like your extremes . I want the guy to settle but other than height personally I think Macca would be quicker on and to the ball - and no worse at distribution . That eff up after 15 mins yesterday was Figs at his ponderous worst how many heart in mouth moments have we had with him. Christie made half a dozen early runs down the wing yesterday and none of the backs looked up and hit it inc Figs . Maybe Tuesday we’ll get it all right at home fingers x’d

i always had the impression when I watched him that Mclaughlins distribution was pretty good. Streets ahead of Figueredos, which happens to be shocking. I always cringe when he has the ball and worry that its going to the opposition, which many times its does.

First twenty they looked very good and should have been at least two up after that they were a strong well organised team , we kept in the game because you always are when 1.0 down, the missed header chance was poor and could have got us a point. At home we have to get more shots on target, yes they were decent but we wasn’t playing a top premier team. Looking forward it would be good to get four to six points from the last four games before the W/c break, then hopefully get some injured players back. In January we need a couple of players in who will make the difference. They have obviously got to be the right type of player we need and hopefully the new manager will have a couple in mind. If Blackburn are one of the top sides in this league then it’s not a massive gap but of course you have to look we’re we need strengthening and sort it.

Welcome back to the MKM mate <cheers>

As others have said, beaten by a better team yesterday. Thought we were off it first half yesterday but couldn't fault the effort 2nd half -just lacking a bit of quality (particularly up front). Hopefully we'll get a 90-minute performance on Tuesday and a positive result
Genuinely I thought there was very little to separate the sides. I thought a draw would have been a fair reflection.

They were a little more slicker but there really wasn't much in it like you said.

They do defend better than us though

Blackburn just had that one bit of quality with the goal that can get you the win at this level. But they also missed some good chances in the first half. The second half they parked the bus so it was always going to be difficult then. But our passing was more off than recently in the first half (and dangerously in our half again) and we needed more movement to find space and give urgency. No faulting the effort but the form wasn't really there.

Jones was hooked to put Greaves back to left side cb, where he belongs, and bring Fleming back to lb, and the team immediately looked more balanced and threatening. We got away with Greaves playing wide left recently, and he did pretty well, but it's not his natural position as he's not quick or mobile enough….
You’ve replied to my question, without answering it.

But there’s a reason why Macca’s never played right side of defence.

Sorry what is it ? must be left footed I take it , it’s not something I’ve taken much note of to be honest as managers swap people about a lot , not been my focus , although Longman is better on the left but right footed

Jones napping for the goal, struggle to see how he is a Championship CB, Id move Greaves back inside and start Fleming,

It was an answer to you saying you were surprised Jones was hooked instead of Fig. Jones was playing left side cb, Greaves' normal position, so it was an obvious switch.
But so was hooking Fig, and moving Jones to his more natural right centre back.
