Do you remember the exchange rate on those. Like a gazillion drachma to £1 We do it to punish him. He's not a fan of all things greek.
yep plus for young UK based talent it was also a means of getting real game time and for the , mainly , Germany clubs they recruited a probable money spinner as they sold them back to PL clubs for big money .
In general I think the world.cup theory and the fact he's just aged up seems far more likely than the money but it could be part of it
I'm not convinced either tbh mate, I think it's the world cup. Don't think VVD as played in a major international tournament before and this is probably his last chance at a world cup. He missed Euro 2020 because he was still recovering from Pickford assaulting him
The team was better than the sum of its parts the trouble is enough of the parts are exhausted / left / out of form that the team has collapsed . that is my deep insight but i should point out i am deep into my second bottle of red having cooked and very much enjoyed my Cod Loin & Prawn Pilaff <burp>
I remember getting 245 Drachma to £1. Greece used to be cheap and remember telling friends when they join the EEC prices would increase and again when they adopted the euro.My friends in Corfu and Piraeus hated joining afterwards because of their cost of living increased. They were used to easy living due to their ' relaxed' ( bent) taxation system.
I had the same experience with Amsterdam after they switched to Euros. The ganja and hot chocolate just became too expensive
I know Holland haven’t qualified for a couple of tournaments and didn’t vvd miss one when he got the serious injury 2 years ago? This WC would be his first major tournament in a while I think. Whether it’s any impact, who knows. Feel like too much poor form from everyone for it to be down to one thing like that though
£17 for a good time when I was their on tour playing rugby years ago, according to me mates. I was a good lad coz I was married.
Same here I wasn't into that tbh. But I did enjoy smoking the herbs. Not sure why but the whole place became a lot more commercialised around the same time as they switched to the Euro.
Only ever done alcohol, never even smoked a cigarette had enough of me mum and dad's *** smoke in back of the car.
I had a misspent youth with the green stuff, knocked it on the head when I had kids... will probably start again when they've left home
According to dermot Gallagher refs have been "consistent" with penalties for raised arms in box and 95% have been given. Which is clearly why Gabriel's one v jota was not given.
I think I remember him saying that one should have been a pen so clearly were the 5% that wasn’t given.
Spurs scrape on by. The conte factor. They've just let sporting take 1st place in group so our chances of a half decent last 16 draw just improved.
