He's still on vast wages. Hence the reason why we know that even if we were his only choice on the plane then stay right there cos we won't give him half of it. Same for Bellingham. Never ever ever happening.
Much as I deride Klopp, I think if Livpl start playing like their typical form under him and you get back into the top 4, players like Bellingham will want to come and play for him. I think most players would. Him and Pep tbh. I don't underestimate that.
Bellingham can demand 350k a week off chelsea and city. Both will pay dortmund well. We cannot afford to do either. Pipedream.
Agree, that's how we became good under him before. Our biggest issue atm (other than injuries) is too many players out of form. I think some (100% VVD) have their eye on the world cup looming. Must be players at other clubs in this situation too though.
No I get that, but we have no idea he will "demand" that. If Pep comes in with money bags to blow you out the water then fair enough. But the attraction of playing for Klopp remains a big attraction for most players, but you need to get your form back.
Imo Alisson. No issues Trent. Pretty lazy at times Gomez. Nightmare Matip. Injured something early and was pulling out of challenges Vvd. Lack of motivation amd avoiding challenges Robertson. Very mixed. Tsimikas. Also mixed. More delivery but general play ****. Fabinho. Totally blown out. Not challenges etc Thaigo can't run Henderson can't last 90. Elliott..headless at times. Some good play at rw. Jota. Injury after injury after injury Diaz. Too far from goal, rare but impressive impact. Salah trash most of time far too far from gaol Nunez very very mixed Firmino. Can't run. Some massive goals but just can't get about either. Carvalho, too raw and not trusted imo Milner hilariously bad in cm. Too slow also. Thinks he is winger
Do you know one player out there that doesn't know the going rate and doesn't demand it? If you lot put down 350k you'll be in the picture. If we put 200k down he and his agent will thank us for the offer and say they'll come back to us sometime.
I use this example a lot, and it is definitely a rarity rather than the norm, but VVD chose Liverpool over Man City. We like the pay agents quite well too.
Yeh but it's not a constant mate. It's not like 1) we all go for the same players or 2) that those sums are offered. On the one recent occasion we have gone for the same player - Nunez, you got him bcos he clearly wanted to play for Klopp/Livpl. I think there are plenty of players with that mentality. I even think many play for clubs like Dortmund.
And the wage? It was the same on offer which was top top dollar for cb at the time. Now what's maguire on? Maybe vvd thinks he deserves mo money (pun intended)
You didn't seriously go in for nunez. There's a queue for Bellingham that will become a feeding frenzy when the world cup starts as England have a piss easy group. If he carries England anywhere in the knockouts (they look too tough for England imo) then the media will be full on orgasmic. The chelsea bods seem to love hot names and lots of them, hence the thought that Hilsea will do anything to get him.
Man City were offering more. Wasn't that long ago you were pointing out how "poorly" VVD was paid prior to his contract renewal.
180k per week. I challenge you to find where I said poor paid with reference to vvd at the time. He got 220k off us. What's maguire on? Think about it. Vvd sees mo get 350k a week and suddenly his form is piss.
players with potential like playing for Dortmund ( and similar clubs ) as they get a great shop window and as a quid pro quo they know they won't be priced out of a move to / refused a move to a "bigger" club .
Nah we were all in for Nunez UNTIL he made it clear he wanted you's. And even then we knew that offering more wasn't going to make a difference.
And to develop themselves technically. I think that then becomes an important part of their psyche in terms of their future club also.
