It's history, what counts is THIS season. I can't understand why people can't see we need a change of management. Ralph is a likeable bloke who has given us some great results and performances but he has, in my view, ran out of ideas.
You have us "very very close to being relegated" in November before the WC. I don't know where your head is, probably a dark and musty place.
My head is in a reasonable place Jabbo and I understand results may improve but pretending RH is the man to take us forward (if that's what you want) is a fools game and I think even you agree.
I don't understand the sheer blind loyalty to the bloke to be honest. He was fairly likeable the first couple of seasons but even his charisma seems on the wane these days. In his interviews he seems uninterested and completely out of ideas. The Rinners are like those in a really ****e relationship that stay in it because they don't know any different and have been gaslit in to thinking they can't get anyone better.
It’s hard to see where the wins will come from without a goal scorer. It’s possible we may tighten up at the back (which I think we’re already seeing), but we have no ideas going forward and can’t buy a goal.
And this is exactly why we aren’t having a new poll. What has crept into this thread, and indeed most of the match threads lately, is a personalisation of the issues around the main question of whether Ralph should stay or not. The example by Lincoln here is a particularly nasty one, and as well as being nasty is about as far removed from reality as it’s possible to be. No-one who still wants Ralph to stay is happy about the current form, but in general, there is a recognition that there are other reasons for it than can simply be laid at Ralph’s door, even though he has to bear a major part of the blame because he is, after all, the manager. Most, if not all, of the Rinners have suggested other potential replacements who may or may not be realistic ones, and who may or may not improve the team. Most, if not all, would be happy if Ralph is replaced at some point this season, as long as a replacement is available immediately. The Routers want pretty much exactly the same thing, but some are allowing their understandable frustrations to turn into personal attacks on people, or at least a group of people, who don’t agree with every word they say. Occasionally, the attacks are from the other direction. Both are regrettable, and both violate one of the prime directives of this forum, so they must stop. Please try and remember that we all support the same team, that we all want that team to succeed, and that just because we might disagree on the best way to improve things, it doesn’t mean we are enemies, or that personal attacks are justifiable.
Ok let's agree to disagree, life's too short. I have a **** work day tomorrow lined up and all the people we are discussing are rich beyond my dreams so whatever happens they will be fine. Rant over.
Yeah that seems right. Today is the day that this debate got personal, it's all done by those who want Ralph out and Lincoln is the main culprit. ****ing hell.
I did. You're saying some of the Ralph out posters are making it personal while calling Lincoln out on it. All the **** he's had on here and yet he's the problem. Never seen you give a spiel like that when he's been the target. Pathetic.
I'm sorry, but I really don't see that as "particularly nasty" and I've certainly not singled any poster out. I've made a generalisation about those who support RH, not just on this forum but from our fan base in general. We're very much a divided set of supporters at the moment and of course pretty much every thread is going to come back to the question of Ralph because we're playing so ****e. As an aside I've taken well more directed personal abuse than that on here without mods jumping in, what's the crack?
And I have personally defended you many times. Remember the poll on the name change? I just thought that particular attack today was uncalled for.
As Tom said if you want to use the £60 million spent then the way to look at last season is: Last 13 games BEFORE investment: W 1 D 2 L 10 Points: 5 Since £60 million invested: W 3 D 3 L 7 Points: 12 So you can't have it both ways. If last season is relevant put it into context if it isn't then look at only this year then.
