Regarding the Bamford situation. I'd play him with the 21's to get a few 90 mins under his belt and hopefully a few goals. Stick Joseph or Perkins on the bench as reward for their start to the season.

Historically he goes through these spells but once he somehow gets a goal he usually gets a few in the next few games before he turns **** again.

it’s not straight forward is it. I’ve never been as big a fan of bamford as some because I don’t think he’s a great finisher even when playing well… but he has historically made the team function well. He may be doing great in training, but just has the yips on the pitch. What do you do? decide you’re never going to play him… or play him ‘til he shins one in, and goes on a hot streak.

He plays Rodrigo instead and everyone bitches about how often he gives the ball away. Personally, I think rod starting and paddy off the bench has been a reasonable compromise so far. IF joffy is fit then there’s certainly now an argument that he should be the sub for rod… but then I don’t watch them play every day in training.

Truth is most people were calling for bamford now most have written him off. Marsch gets sh*t for dropping players for bad performances and sh*t if he doesn’t drop them.

Joseph is a bit raw, but he definitely has a finisher’s instinct. The u21 game I watched, I didn’t notice him then he scored 3… a tap in and two good finishes. Perkins looks a neat All round footballer. Hard to say if either are ready to make any impact.

The one thing about Willy - maybe because he has played for his country… he didn’t look phased and had some confident touches. Looks like they see him more as wide cover than central though at the moment. In theory at least he covers all opportunities.

He needs to start against Wolves and see how long he can last. Infact that game is a good opportunity for Klich Llorente Firpo Ayling to get 90 under their belts

there’s an argument for that definitely… but re strikers, also an argument to give the kids a go. See Willy from the start… joffy if fit, maybe Joseph or Perkins. Reality is he won’t want to give too many minutes to anyone expecting involvement at the weekend.

I'd like him to go with 2 up front Bamford and Gelhardt for that game see how it goes. 4-4-2 or 5-3-2

    Gotta say probably would.

Team as in match day squad and whether he starts depends on fitness and if he can grab a goal in the next few games to improve his confidence.

Bottom line is we're more effective as an attacking unit with him on the pitch, he's still taking up the correct positions and getting really good chances but obviously it's not working for him at the moment.

Souness after the game was saying he needs to see a psychologist but for me that's bollocks. What he does need to do is spend hour after hour working on his finishing every day after training. Repetition, repetition, repetition until he can take 2 touches and get a decent strike off and Jesse needs to tell him to fecking stay out there until he's ****ing sorted it.

Good shout. Firstly if Bamford got the chance that Rodrigo got yesterday maybe his yips would go. On the other side of that though right now if Rodrigo had the same chances Paddy has missed recently I think he scores.

The noticeable thing with Bamford and the recent missed chances is all down to either trying to get it onto his left foot, or instead of lashing it first time trying to control it with his left foot first and messing up. Practice required as you say. Maybe have a session with Rodrigo who is also a lefty and he ain’t scared of lashing it with either hammer. Not going to hurt Marsch if he put a session on with them 2

As you say Doc the all round game is still there, so it's like golf when your putting is ****, or chipping, or whatever. You can't fix it on the course and it takes hours and hours of work/practice on the putting green, or short game area before you see an improvement.

Suppose it depends how dedicated to your craft you are really.

It's been a constant theme of Bamford's since he joined us unfortunately.

My other strategy is to bring Beradi back and and get him to crunch Bambi every time he misses a chance in training. That should do the trick or finish him forever and we can then claim on the insurance <laugh>

that’s great for helping cure technical problems, but not always so helpful for problems between the ears.

Anyway I think it’s a great idea. Perhaps write to Jesse and suggest paddy does some finishing practice?

or you’ll send the butler round to give him a damn good thrashing!

This clear understanding of both the problem and the solution is why you should be leading this team and that useless shoofly pie, Yankey doodle tree hugger should take his mr motivator bollox back across the Atlantic.

Didn't Bielsa take a bunch of average players and mould them into something far greater than the sum of their parts ? Also he devised a system which allowed those same players to become successful and along with improved fitness levels improve their careers.

If the players under Jesse are now making the same mistakes over and over then it's his job to find solutions. The buck always stops with the manager/coach and as we've seen sometimes replacing the coach suddenly gives players a new lease of life.

Can he stop Cooper panicking when under pressure, probably not as even Bielsa couldn't work that miracle but he definitely should be working hard to improve those in game moments and lessen their impact on results.

    Glad you're onboard milky.

First change is to get the Not 606ers in for some proper motivational speaking and then have the players serving us beer all night.

None of this picking up litter nonsense.
