Didn’t watch? I was seriously close to a heart attack. I’ve watched twice so far and I’ll have another for brekkie
Marsch still won't see the season out if he's only got one style of way of playing, even after the great result tonight
If he backs this win up with 4 more points from the next two games then he will have turned the tide. Good game against Pool but still a lot of chances for them and we missed a few chances as well, so still work in progress but as a coach I couldn't fault him yesterday but for many it will take more than 1 win to change their opinion.
We can’t afford for it to be Chelsea all over again. I agree with Eric we need to back this three points up with at least three more before the break. Yes give the team credit but on another day Liverpool could have put us to the sword, Meslier made some great saves, if 2-3 had found the net we’d all be screaming Jesse out. It came off yesterday but we still gifted them space and chances, credit today for the entire team and Jesse but if that’s our last three points before the break he has to still go. Me personally, I still believe he is out of his depth, I’d still replace him. 3 points against Bournemouth and I’d guess he’s saved himself
On another day Aaronson scores instead of hitting the bar, Bamford takes the ball in his stride, Harrison scores his one v one, Rodrigo shot goes in the far corner, Harrison curled effort finds the corner, Summerville shoots instead of passing 2nd half and we come away with 7 goals. Works both ways.
They had 22 shots, 69% possession, if you honestly believe playing the way we do is the right way going forward I’m not going to argue. My own belief is continue with Jesse and our current league position is the best we can hope to finish but more than likely we’ll be in and out the drop zone.
It was Liverpool away. Did you expect to dominate all stats? Genuinely don't know what you expect? It was a very good away performance. We soaked up the pressure and hit them on the break. For 20 minutes 2nd half we had them pinned in their own half until Coopers mistake. Textbook away performance.
As we know only too well possession counts for nothing. Leeds out ran the lazy twats by 11kms so putting in the effort got it’s just rewards for a change. Agreed though doesn’t make Marsch a tactical genius. Jury still out on him and he’s been lucky a couple of stars like Summerville and Gnonto have fallen into his lap but if he gets that effort out of the team on a consistent basis we’ll pick up enough points to move up the table.
No I didn’t expect any of that, I also didn’t expect Liverpool to only put away one of their 22 shots. I always expect Bamford to miss chances, I always expect one of our defenders to make a mistake. I’m happy with the result but I’m surprised that one result changes the way anyone would view Jesse and his shortcomings
It hasn't changed my view. My view is that team performances have been good enough to see us higher up the table. My view is that it's the individuals that make mistakes and therefore not the coach. He openly stated he wanted a striker and a left back and got neither. Llorente, Bamford and Cooper are guilty of individual brain farts on more than one occasion. I blame them more than the coaches.
Under Bielsa we dominated stats in most games and still got nothing. Great win and we need to stop this over analyzing crap.
True. You also can't blame the coach for mistakes like Rodrigos which cost us the the game or for the poor finishing of Bamford.
