We were round relatives last night, I recorded the game and managed to avoid the result. I certainly didn’t see that one coming. If someone had said at the start of the season you’re going to beat Chelsea and Liverpool at Anfield I’d be expecting us to be top three, what a weird season. I’m trying to think back to points in the game that really stand out, obviously the goals but equally so the squandered chance by Bamford and the look on his face. I also thought he was going to get in the way of Jimmy before he got his shot off. Bamfords confidence is more shot than I’ve ever seen it before.
I've said it all month. Confidence is everything in this game. You can slag off Marsch. Blame Orta. Say Radz is cheap. The main reason we are in this mess is an accumulation of bad luck and individuals making mistakes. That results in confidence loss which means more mistakes. Its a viscious circle. Since the month long break we've not played badly as a team but individuals have been to blame. Marsch completely out coached Klopp last night. He made changes to formations and his substitutions were on point. And all that under the pressure he has been under all week.
Elland Road purchased. Thorpe Arch refurbished to pre Bates standard if not better. Youth set up reinstated and we now have multiple internationals in all age groups. Play Offs achieved and then back in the Premier League after 16 years. Highest league position for nearly twenty years, second season syndrome avoided. Must be incredibly long winters in your house if that is a source of constant moaning. Could the club do with an owner richer than Rads? Probably if we want to compete at the top but that would make those that gripe about football being all about money unhappy wouldn’t it? The biggest irony and source of much chuckling here is, if Rads took your advice and sacked himself (I presume you mean he should also sell up) he would be a far less skint Rads than when he first came to the club after achieving all of the above
Absolutely agree the team and staff need to take this result enjoy it, put it behind them and stuff Bournemouth, front up to Spuds and consolidate over the WC period. Talking of the WC which of our players are going?
The danger and dilemma is wondering if this is Chelsea all over again. I’m convinced if we hadn’t beat Chelsea then Jesse would have been out of a job after the Fulham game, the Chelsea result brought him tons of leeway. We can’t afford this to be our only three points in the next 7 games, if and now it’s a huge IF we are going to replace him (Jesse) the ideal time is fast approaching. I’m guessing a win against Bournemouth and his job will be safe, this win has given the board are huge headache. I’m glad it’s not my decision to make, it would be so Leeds to replace him on Monday despite this result.
We do need to beat Bournemouth and hopefully get a result against Spurts in order to show we can avoid the dog fight at the bottom. It just doesn't make sense that we can beat Chelsea and Liverpool and still be dragged into the ****ty end of the division.
The worrying things I saw last night were not down to Marsch and that's been a recurring theme this season. Cooper basically air kicked a clearance twice giving Liverpool their best chance. Bamford didn't take a simple pass from Summerville to score a tap in. Same players making same mistakes over and over. That's not Marsch. People are knocking on the wrong door.
A win at last. Last one was when I was on holidays in august and we’ve people going wild about radz and Orta. Get a grip. We’re one point above relegation. Last night was brilliant with Meslier mainly to thank. Hopefully we can change tactics for the less attack minded reams and keep moving upwards
He picks the players, he supposedly spends time on the training ground with them. He put Llorente back in last week, that player shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near the first team. Bamfords spent his entire career missing those chances, Bamfords crap in a non Bielsa team, don’t pick him. Play Harrison in his correct position. The result was fantastic, one game shouldn’t mean Jesse is suddenly manager of the month.
Cooper made a couple of bloopers too and got away with them so tough call between him and llorente for a place. Also Bamford looks a busted flush
You happily quote stats on yesterday's game to justify your view that we should sack Marsch, Orta and Radz and that it's unacceptable for us to be 2nd best. You weren't forthcoming with the stats from alot of the other games that say we should have gotten something from.
Bamfords face when he failed to control the ball with the wrong foot. No amount of mind game coaching will improve his ability. Also Rodrigo continued with passing the ball to the oppos.
Watched this in a pub full of pissed scousers, one of whom thought he was the commentator for the entire first half until even his mates told him to put a sock in it. They were very quiet for the second half and pretty much all left right after Summervilles goal - which is just as we shouted the place down. Got thrown out for over celebrating in the end. Thought the team were great, Liverpool weren't that bad, playing very good one touch footie at times. Summerville didn't get into it until the second half and when Gnonto came on I thought he was playing Fast Show style schoolboy football, staying too close to whoever had the ball, but then I noticed he was distracting their players so fair do's to him. Coopers double missed tackle and Bamford's miss were deemed worthy of a double replay. Embarrassing. Thought they wouldn't have scored their goal if Roca hadn't slipped. Why no scouse players weren't booked I don't know, especially after Aaronson was wrestled to the ground and had the ball kicked at him. Their defenders did so much shirt and short pulling I thought there was some man-love about to start. So, is Marsch now in / out or what?
