Where there any injuries today? Surprised Jones was hooked in front of Fig.
I notice Blackburn only gave Fig the space to pass the ball forward from the back, which far too often resulted in us losing possession. Assume that was why Fig was subbed and Christie went in to that position, with about 10 mins to go. It was a smart move, but very late, as it was fairly obvious what Blackburn were doing.

I felt sorry for fig he was left with the ball all the time and it was 90th minute he was subbed
Most centre backs aren’t going to be slotting superb through balls in yet he must have had the most ball in the second half
    That’s poor management from daws

I’ll say it again slater does **** all except pass backwards and hides most of the time

but never does anything wrong as he doesn’t do anything

we have no plan apart from a fifty yard cross field ball
    we need to do something
And I really don’t see rosenoir as the answer

Lost to a good side today hence the inability to break them down.

Set pieces still a potential Achilles heel.

Mid table beckons …which would be progress.

    Allam’s GONE.

Or was it a clever and well implemented strategy from Blackburn? If that was happening first half (it wasn’t as noticeable?), maybe he should have been pulled rather than Jones, who has slightly better distribution

I noticed a lot of different groups around me were really quick to jump on Longman’s back. There seemed to be really unjustified angry reactions at even slight mistakes (which others were making without similar angry reactions).
I don’t think we’ve heard the last of this Longman hating. As soon as he has a stinker or has a bad miss, I’m fairly sure it will escalate again. It does seem very unfair towards a young player who is learning the game

Others have mentioned it but Christ the ref was hard work today. It's been bad all season at home but today was a new high for one-sidedness. I'd love to know what the reason is that we get so many free kicks against us every game. Are we really that dirty? Is it just that we're an easy crowd to give decisions against? That entire second half we had all the ball but the only free kick we got in their half was one out on the wing near the halfway line. That's unheard of when a team has so much of the ball and is pressing for a goal. A few times towards the end there were 50/50s flying in and I thought surely he'll take this opportunity to give us one and redress the balance slightly, but no. I know we're all biased towards our own team and think the ref is against us but I don't know how you could see it any other way today, it was just incredible.

Didn’t do anything today but wasn’t atrocious. Having Longman or Oscar as the lone striker without any pace next to them like Allahyar is asking a lot. Hoofing goal kicks and long balls to them and hoping they’ll win a knock down is a fool’s errand.

Seri and Woods were good against Blackpool and Rotherham because they gave us time on the ball and we dominated. Today, they were far less effective against a possession-based team. Broken record but this is when you need physical players in midfield to break up play, win aerial duels and loose balls etc.

Today’s result is probably my fault. My first game this season <sorry>. On the whole I didn’t think there was much difference between the two sides. Pelkas should have buried that header though. Apologies again for probably contributing to defeat. Dawson has definitely got them playing better though - much kudos to Daws.

Not quite sure how in these games when we need to change things up he always lasts 90 minutes. Seemed to have about 3 touches all game but seems he’s immune from being hooked when he’s done f all.

Classic example of a player who just gets on with doing the ugly stuff well.

But he isn't immune from anything. We have better technical players in his position. He's justifying his place through graft currently and 50 grand is a joke of a deal for the lad.

But if some of the more technical signings start matching him for graft then he's got no guarantee of a starting place. Nor should he have.

He's where he is on merit though. At the moment IMHO.

I was not feeling as down after the game as I have been after some previous home games. We came up against a good side, but I felt we were not a million miles away from them. We gave it a good go in the 2nd half, Pelkas should have scored from Slater's cross which was inch perfect., if that had gone in then you may well have seen us push on.

I don't get this slating of Slater, could we get a better player on that position, yes, but he is going a much better job on the whole than some others. He was the creator of our best 2 chances, at least he keeps going and doesn't throw the towel in. Blackburn made it hard for us, their pressing forced us into passing the ball sideways too often, but that is credit to them.

We need a better centre back than Figgy, a Curtis Davis type, dominant in the air and an organiser. Fleming looked good when he came on, a bit ring rusty, but certainly should be looking to start, if not Tuesday then next weekend. It is a bit of a concern that the goals against in the last 3 games have come from our right-back position. That needs to be addressed ASAP.

Pelkas is a good player, that reverse ball in the first half to Christie was a delight, but just doesn't get involved with the ball as much as he needs to. Sinik looked lively when he came on, I think given time he could be good on the left. The game really missed someone like Allahyar, him running at their defence could have made a big difference.

All in all not down hearted, lost a game by the odd goal to a good side. If we can get 3 points against Boro, everything will be okay again.

It's funny, I was watching the Blackburn stream and there commentary lads said the ref had a great game. There were a number of 50/50 calls that weren't conclusive even after the replay they give you on ifollow, just annoyingly they all went to Blackburn.

I thought that tackle on Seri was an absolute blatant red card though. The lad won the ball, but the follow through was high, out of control and dangerous.
