Brilliant free-kick from the Ginger Ninja in Lesta. Stupid foul to give it away, though. https://streamin.me/v/ff26b13f
I couldn't work out why Bristol v Swansea was an early game today, as it's not on tele. It's nearly a local derby though, isn't it? Imagine having a derby with a team from another country!
Leicester take off a forward and a defender, go 4 at the back and 2 up front. Must be nice to have that option available. Probably won't work out, but they've got nothing to lose.
Diego Costa has just received his first ever red card in the Premier League. Bit different when you're playing for Wolves rather than Chelsea, eh Diego? The incident: https://streamin.me/v/854259be That **** did worse than that all match in the so-called Battle of the Bridge. He'd have been off about four times in the first half, FFS! Still a red, obviously. Funny how they missed all of them at the time though, eh?
Unclear as to how strong the Poool will go in their CL tie with Napoli, with the Spurs game looming. Napoli have to lose by 4 goals to finish 2nd in their group, so have some "dead rubber" leeway (cue 4 NDombele OG) . Similarly the Poool could write the game off. I suspect the result today against Leeds will also have some bearing on that.
Haven't seen a replay (strange that) but Robertson appeared to kick a Leeds player on the deck, ball well away. Melee ensued, suggesting that others viewed it the same, but Oliver only spoke to him. No card of any colour... I'm sure there's nothing suspicious or corrupt going on ....
Meslier makes a top draw save (amongst a few others) then Leeds go up the pitch and make it 2-1. Meslier and Robert Sanchez would be my picks to be Lloris' heir. Both really good young keepers.
One problem with watching Napoli this season, it's wishing that Paratici took punts on Kim Min-jae and (especially) Khvicha Kvaratskhelia when he had the chance in the summer...
A focused and ruthless manager/squad should have all the motivation needed to try and give the Poool an on-pitch kicking while they are down ...
Top four race is wide open right now. Didn’t think Liverpool or (to a lesser extent) Chelsea would be struggling as much as they have done so far. On the other hand, Newcastle have also exceeded expectations. Second half of the season post-WC is going to be extremely interesting.
Will Newcastle spend big in January? If they do then watch out. I still think this season is a bit too soon for them though
I think a lot of clubs will be active in January, with the WC being mid-season, and potential injuries/loss of form/fatigue with certain players. There'll be a lot of competition for signatures, too, especially with some of the bigger teams underperforming. I could be wrong, but I expect this to be one of, if not the, biggest January transfer window(s) ever.
I'd like us to sign Caoimhin Kelleher. Not only is he a top prospect, the scouse fume alone would be worth the transfer fee.
