I think AMN happened at HT and Diallo came off. Made huge difference.

Don't know who's argument that proves though lol

I've been thinking about this and it's not such a crazy idea, it may not have occurred to Ralph, might be worth mentioning it to him..

Yeah I agree, AMN was better than Diallo. Which in itself pisses me off with Ralph, Diallo has a tiny purple patch in one game, and starts the next, with literally everyone knowing it just doesn’t work out him starting (again, why is this) and defo doesnt work next to JWP. Yet know Ralph gives the team a rocket at half time, and is lauded as a tactical genius, for taking DFiallo off and playing the player that most of us thought would start.

But clearly, it is the players, yet again, who let Ralph down.

Not a dig at you as im sure you know that, but when does Ralph actually take the blame for performances and results?

Today, I thought it was the players, other times I have thought it is Ralph, whereas your view implies it is always a 100% Ralph ( interesting or right you are!). So it would seem that there should be about twelve manager positions up for grabs given our firm and everyone else around us in the league.
I think if you look at the poll, I am currently Ralph out, but today I don't put that on him. I just think we are too reactionary in modern society today ( I am among them, after a bad result). If we have a great plan like Cortese did when axeing Cortese, then great, if we don't I would rather keep the status quo

Fair enough, I dont agree today was on the p;layers. To a point, yes. Like Diallo literally couldn’t pass to our team, which clearly isnt on Ralph. I just think they seem confused what the **** to do, play long, short, how to go forward in possession.

So, to that extent, maybe is it both the players, and Ralph. But id suggest not all the players, as some were woeful and others not so bad.

I mean, it isnt Ely’s fault Ralph keeps picking him, it is Ralphs fault.

Except that Diallo played really well for the whole game against Arsenal. This wasn’t a decision off the back of a good cameo against Bournemouth.

Not 'walk into other squads'. Play regularly. Che wouldn't walk into the squad of any but maybe one or two PL sides, and neither would Romeu.

Stu has history on this. Celtic fans were quite happy to see the back of him because he was quite poor in his final year there: concentration levels dropped, his passing was woeful, and they didn't think that he even merited inclusion in their starting lineup. He perked up for a bit here, but since has reverted to form.

Perraud only played in Ligue 1 previous. Really difficult to say there's a superior version of him under a different manager given that, especially considering that the thing he is missing is pace, and I'm highly dubious another manager is going to make him fast.

Broja's history of playing better under a different manager is, what, Vitesse? Bit apples and orangutangs, that.

In your opinion. Point taken to an extent, but i didnt think he played really well the whole game, which is 90 mins. He played well after the first 30 mins or so, maybe more so 2nd half, but i genuinely dont think he played well for 90 mins.

But you can see the logic there (even if I disagree with it) as to why he would put him in there again. The natural actual change pre-game would have been a back four with AMN coming in at RB replacing Lyanco. But again, you can see why Ralph sticked with Lyanco and the five (and there were plenty wanting that on here before the game).

Where Ralph gets me frustrated is when he makes decisions based on no logic, rather than decisions that I might not make tactically (after all, he sees them in training, I don't). On this occasion there was logic to it, even if it ended up being the supposedly 'wrong' decision with hindsight.

This. I disagree with many of his moves, but I understand why they're being made. Doesn't mean he has 'lost the plot', just that we don't have a lot of obvious choices, and he's prioritizing things that I wouldn't. Mostly, he's prioritizing players who will consistently put in a shift for 90 minutes over those that I'd consider to have more quality, but I understand why: those players will at least keep us in games, even if they'll generally keep us in games where we're a goal down and look like trash.

I'd just prefer that we go back to being brave, even if it means getting stuffed from time to time.

    Yes and no Laces.

In that Ralph right now need taking out of the firing line - he doesn’t know what the best line up is, tactics etc.

So no, Diallo has so often failed from the start, and has always pretty much struggled with simple passes, so when he has a good game, and youre right, he did v Arsenal, I still wouldn’t have put him in v Bompey or today, unless necessary. The last two games, yeah it was more necessary, but today he could have gone with AMN in the middle, or at RB.

I agree we are pretty ****ed at RB just now, so in that sense it is hard. So I can see why he put Diallo in there, I still wouldn’t have done it.

As for a back 5, yes I think that may be the way forward, but not the way Ralph does it. I just really think for all parties, it needs to change.

And I simply cant accept it is always the players fault, not that you are saying that btw.

It is also so odd, and has largely been a fixture of all Ralphs time here, that we can be night and day from one half to the next.

quite interesting to note. that about 3 years ago we would have had about 40 pages on a match thread (with about 50/50 manager stay/go apart from Pellegrino obviously) - Any reason we have lost lots of posters?

Lavia should be back for the next game, hopefully, which will open up a load of new options.

Absolutely! Astounding really. Not all the time but very regular. To me it’s on Ralph. Doesn’t set up right or doesn’t pick the right tactical changes including subs. Of course the argument will be we don’t have the armoury but I’ve said before that’s his job. In a sort of defence of Ralph he got the tactical change & subs spot on with Arsenal but we still set up wrong to start with. Difficult job with our squad no doubt but Ralph rarely pulls rabbits out.

Hopefully but it is insane that our season seems to hinge around the fitness of an 18 year old. A very good one. But still

    okay

    So when we were better:

    Pochettino - yes
Koeman - fans wanted him sacked before we finished 6th
    Puel - Cup Final?
    Pellegrino -.........
    Hughes- ..........

Koeman had Mane (2nd in Fifa player of the year and Van Dick, best central defender in UK for last twenty years)

All I see is a list of managers that the fans want sacked apart from Poch (some rightfully so and some insanely sow). Be CAREFUL!

Not so much, when you have a real talent. Bit like Le-Tiiss being better than Benali etc

What!? You write the list, not me. I’m just asking for RH to get his shirt sorted. Weird.
