Not in the slightest. It was only when I saw the action replay that I realised Nunez was, on this occasion, innocent.
I'm sure if Duff had the luxury of an action replay he would've stowed it! I did quite enjoy watching Nunez fall on his arse though
As true as alot of this is, I don't agree with your comment about Dicksons tackle.. it was a belter, risky but a proper tackle, as for the comments about the team being distracted I take heart in seeing the unity of the team, ofcourse it risks disorganisation however fulham have built themselves on their dicispline and for alot of the season have looked like they have lacked any bite.. seeing that we do indeed have that bite is only a good thing and hopefully the whole experience can have a rolling effect on the team. Fulham are unbeaten in 22 home European matches including 17 wins and 5 draws, stretching back to a 0-0 draw against FC Haka on 6 July 2002 COYW
As I've said above, it was one of those tackles that used to be legal as long as you got the ball first, but which now aren't due to changes in the rules. As for it being good to see such a wholehearted, positive performance, I couldn't agree more! And, yes, let's hope this is a corner turned rather than a one-off.
It's a disgrace that Nunez has got away with that play acting but unfortunately it's not surprising. UEFA are spineless. Looking forward to the game on Sunday, unfortunately I won't be going although I don't think I could take another humping like we got in the FA Cup last year. I'm sure Jol will get an excellent reception from our fans, although I expect 'Arry will too if he makes it.
Looking forward to the game myself, it'll be a good test for us, although I don't expect anything other than to be well-beaten by your lot (listen to me, I sound like Val!), given that you put your second side out in the Europa and we were practically full-strength.
It's interesting to see all the views, and I have some emphathy for the Captain's view. I'd rather not see our team behaving in this way, but when UEFA took the coward's route and did nothing to Nunez, it was they who set the match-up for what it was. Papers this morning were talking about the UEFA "Dis-respect Campaign" - they are a joke. This was not quite "winning dirty" (as Danny put last weekend's win), but in the end Wisla went home with what they deserved - Nothing. And AJ got another brace. As for Etuhu, he went too far and could have easily got a straight red, let alone two yellow cards.
