    Wigan v Watford

Last season's league 1 winners Wigan, and their new contract extension signing manager, host Watford. Despite Richardson putting pen to paper, supposedly, their players haven't been paid on time recently though, so who knows what might materialise before now and the game?

The Latics were takenover in 2021 by a group headed by Bahrain businessman Tamal Mubarak Al-Hammad. At the time he said, "this is the start of a new chapter in the history of Wigan Athletic, the future is a much healthier and stable one." Owners, hey? At least they enjoyed a promotion last season!

Watford haven't won back to back games all season. (RE; W, D, W, D, D, L, W, D, L, D. SB; W, L, L, W, L, W.) After a run like that, I feel we are lucky not only to sit 10th in the table, but still be in with a chance of catching those above us if a good run is put together.

The last spineless 3-0 loss to Millwall, compared to the Spartan like 4-0 win against Lootown sums up our rollercoaster season so far performance wise. 19th placed Wigan have lost 3 on the bounce, and I am sure Slav will want to get his teeth into another 3 points. Watford need to find some consistency if they are to move in the right direction up the table.

Last time we played them Deeney got a brace, the first of which is one my favourite salmonesque goals ever scored. It was back in 2015.

    ENJOY THE GAME

    TEAM NEWS:

    To follow.

However, I don't see the injury list clearing much for Saturday.

    Unfortunately, Louza is out.

Thanks for the thread Mex. <ok> Despite only having scored 17 goals all season, Wigan made life hard for top of the table QPR in their last game. This will not be a walk in the park for the Horns, unless the forwards click again.

Last week against Luton it was a toss up between subscibing to Hive and hoping to find a stream. In the end I paid up, and at the end felt I had had good value for my £10. Same thoughts again today. Yes wished there was some way of telling what you will get for your money, but that is the same when you pay to be at a ground.

Two changes to the starting XI, with Sierralta and Bayo returning in place of Cathcart (thigh strain) and Davis (hip muscle).

Seem to struggle more when Cathcart isn’t fit but Sierralta will be a physical presence.

The Hive is my back-up plan. The IPTV service I subscribe to includes just about every sports channel imaginable - including the EFL's iFollow channel, which actually mostly uses the Hive broadcast. On the rare occasion that doesn't work, I use the Hive, rather than trawl through 2-3 hundred channels looking for one screening the game.

But Hive not available from the club this afternoon?

Am hunting for a stream but early days. Alternatives always welcome.

One of the advantages of being an International Scully.

You might try here, but too early to say what it might have. https://reddit3.soccerstreamlinks.com/

Could also try using a VPN and pretend to be abroad. That's something I thought of investigating a while ago but haven't needed to yet.

I suspect that the card you pay with has to be registered to an overseas address, but not sure.

Yes often think about VPN but need to properly investigate it as I don't want to go down the free route.

What is the Wigan mascot? It looks like a pie with a cap on (a chicken pie?)

It's called Crusty the Pie - I'm not sure of the relevance to Wigan though. Staple diet of the locals?
