Congrats on the win Beefy but do you not think that it might be a case of neither is good enough, rather than they both are? I was personally hoping that one or the other would win impressively. Oscars Well is obviously entitled to improve for the run but he will surely need to significantly to take a hand in the Champion. They might well be the second and third best in Ireland but they still have a mountain to climb to shake a stick at the Hurricane. My impression was that it was an excellent race viewing wise, but rather underwhelming in terms of genuine long-term champion hurdle prospects. The fact that there were 3 in a line at the last can never be a good sign. If i was one of the English trainers (ie Henderson with Spirit Son and Nicholls with Zarkandar) i'd have been pleased with what i saw.
Oddy...you can bet in both if memory serves me correct. I do like the Nightingale as well and was there last year when,as you mentioned,he hosed up.Very open contest.Gonna wait and see what the ground ends up like. As i said the forecast is good. I like Linnel in the H'cap Chase...good ew prospect.
