Stockdale is only helping the club out. Doubt if he is a permanent appointment.

No-one of here knows the situation at WBA. They have a good name, tradition and pedigree in football but we don't know what financial position they are in, or what is expected, or what contract/money/investment is available. They could be just about to go bust for all we know.

But we had posters saying that surely we were not behind WBA and Middlesbrough in the pecking order.

Money talks. WBA have parachute payments. They're above anyone that doesn't have that sort of budget. Middlesboro have a higher turnover than us too.

If they are in trouble it will be when the parachute payments stop - but they would have assets in their squad they could sell to alleviate any immediate financial threat if there was one.

Why does a new manager need to know anything about the city? Maybe we should appoint Geraghty? Or Darren Hale?
What do you think Shankly knew about Liverpool, a Second Division club when he joined them, or the cit of Liverpool?
Doubt Peter Taylor or Steve Bruce were au fait with the history of the club or the city when they joined us.

Steve Bruce could well be the most experienced Championship Manager around and he couldn't do nowt with WBA.

Which is why I could not understand anyone finding it difficult to believe we were behind them in the pecking order. They also average far more than we do which is a factor.

Don’t know if world events have affected their owners wealth, or how much of it he is willing to spend, but his worth was stated to be £2.8 billion.

To be fair, owners wealth isn't so relevant to spending power. Its linked to income with losses lmited by FFP. Can still only spend 39 over and above income in a rolling 3 years in the championship - though WBA's income will be of a different order of magnitude to most in the division still due to being a recent PL club.

Not sure Rosenior is the right choice.
Not willing to let the fact he once played for us cloud my judgement.
None of us a privy to who applied and what some of those would want financially, I would have preferred someone more experienced though that doesn’t guarantee anything either.
Let’s be patient and wait till the WC break.
Daws is doing a good job.

It does mean the players shouldn’t have to worry too much about getting paid though.

Peter Swan the owner of Scunthorpe United is said to be minted too. Doesn't mean they are willing to risk any of it on a football club.

I'm not sure how loving the club helps a manager do his job any better? In fact in my personal experience it leads to people being too emotionally attached and it clouding their judgement at times.

I'm not sure Pep would have known too much about Man City until they started spending money and dining at the same table of clubs he was managing. And I would hazard a guess that he did his homework ahead of arriving in Manchester but was not too familiar with history of the club before that. His nan might be from Prestwich though, I have no idea.

What a good manager would do is turn up, organise the team he has been handed to play the style he feels suits their ability and then look to improve the sqaud in subsequent windows. To do that well you would feel experience is essential. However if Rosenior has convinced Acun he can do that then good luck to him. For me it is not the right call but I am not risking my cash and reputation on it so I am not arsed.

Don’t think Swan has £2.8 billion. Imagine if we had that amount. £5 million each for the kids to set them up, bung a bit in the wife’s account so she would be alright if you pop your clogs and the rest to make City the top club we all want it to be. Then log into not606 and read what a **** you are and how they would run things better.<laugh>

Pep made his career at Barcelona. Not sure that's a great example.
