I posted on Wigan post about the pros and cons of Clive's posts. Ultimately whatever views we have on life, we are all brought together by the Rs. The love we show for each other in hard times is unbelievable, and truly shows, regardless of our obvious differences on beliefs we pull together, we are one very big family!
Sorry to hear of your health problems Staines and Hammersmith. I hope all the procedures go well and you both make full recoveries. Best wishes to you both fellow Rrrrrrrssss
Staines, Hamm & Peter - I wish you all a speedy recovery and/or long prolonged remission. I’ve had a rotten few weeks with work lately, lots of stress and generally 6 day working weeks etc. I’m pretty good at whinging about what are frankly, my minor troubles. Your posts are humbling.
Good luck Stainsey- you've got this licked. Whoever invented the bell ringing is a genius. Can't think of a better motivational tool for those who fear the worst when they go in for the first time. For some reason they didn't have it when I was discharged from the Haematology unit and I did mention it as I'd had the pleasure of ringing first time round when discharged from the radiology unit
Damn bruv. Awful situation, but hopefully prognosis is correct and you make a steady and full recovery. My dad, God rest his soul, had this diagnosed back in the 80's. He passed away in 2010. I've had a blood test a few years ago, but I'm not sure if that included a PSA. So I'll be asking for that tout de suite. Anyway, I fervently hope you get well and keep posting for many, many years to come. Hopefully about QPR in Prem. Cheers Staines and thanks for the heads up.
For all the sceptics on here about the power of physical exercise I have one piece of advice. Get yourself one fit energetic dog and make a promise to yourself that you will give him the exercise he wants. I shed a stone and my high blood pressure has completely disappeared. However he is therapeutic in psychological terms as well. We celebrate life together. Even when the Rs lose. 4 hours walking a day at weekends may be a tad excessive. Yet somehow he never fails to persuade me to go into the garden to kick a ball for him to chase for 45 minutes after the second walk of the day. Come rain or shine.
Yep I believe that's what it's doing. I'm a bit clueless about the subject I'm ashamed to admit. Will update after I've spoken with the doc tomorrow
Nothing trivial about life's daily stresses mate, they all accumulate. Thanks for the thoughts and don't let tge bastards grind you down. Take care and hope work things improve for you !
Seconded…..physical exercise is not only good for you physically but also mentally. I’ve been in some dark places but going out for a run has always sorted me out. Shame mentally I’m still a bit ****ed but that’s what my therapist is there for.
That’s what it will be mate….it’ll constantly monitor your heart for as long as you wear it and can then tell if you go into certain arrhythmias like I mentioned. That in turn could cause clots that travel through your vessels into your brain, thus causing the TIAs. Would suspect you’ll be on Apixaban or Rivaoxaban from now on, so watch any bangs on the head once you start
Another awful situation and from what I've read in the past five minutes, many of the posters here have had bad health issues. This growing old is not a walk in the park and we've moved on from being "bullet proof" in our teens and twenties. HB. I hope you far outlive your father and gramps, and in a far healthier way than your current situation. I can't begin to imagine what it would have been like lying on the ground helpless and conscious for so long. That took great courage to drag yourself to the phone and then wait another 50 mins. Respect bruv. And to you and all others that have had health issues, God speed in your recoveries.
Hope everything goes well for you Hammersmith, your in the best place & hopefully they will sort you out
This is why I love this board. Not only for the QPR matters, but also how we rally around each other when things get tough, even though it's only in thought. But I think that really matters to someone going through any dreadful situation, health or otherwise. To know that others care about you can make a huge difference in their outcome. So cheers to all the well-wishers. WE ARE QPR!! And that's why I LOVE this board!
Staines, good to hear you are alive and kicking and Hammersmith that is an awful story but glad you are hear to tell the tale. Peter good luck with your treatment onwards and upwards. On reading this, apart from feeling bad for you guys I must admit my wicked sense of humour wanted to make up a story to top what you have written to parody Monty Pythons 4 Yorkshire men sketch but thought better of it. I do think even at times like these comedy has a place. Staines, I was actually thinking about you the other day because we played Wigan last week and remember us sitting together with your boys watching a Wigan game 1- 0 to us with Remy scoring a cracker from distance right in front of us. (At least I think it was that game) Can't say I've seen your lefty side in person, weird yes but lefty I dunno# Anyway boys hope you are all back on your feet and strutting your stuff soon, be it with or without a brick around your neck. BTW, nice nips Hammersmith
Possibly not the right thread to debate it, but I'm not a fan of the bell. It's fantastic for those who get to ring it, but for those who don't, especially children, it can be a cruel sound imo.
