I remember a few years ago driving past it out of the city toward Glossop around 11pm and calling into a 24 hour Tesco in the area, **** me, rough as any pub I'd ever been in.
On this Thursday in 1728 was The birthday of Captain James Cook, English naval officer and one of the greatest navigators in history. His voyages in the Endeavour led to the European discovery of Australia, New Zealand and the Hawaiian Islands. Thanks to Cook’s understanding of diet, no member of the crew ever died of scurvy, the great killer on other voyages. In his youth he was apprenticed to a ship owner in Whitby.
One of my few history lessons at school that I remember, him and Scott of the Antartic. Only other things I was interested in were the great plague and the great fire of London. Never imagined in my lifetime I would see what we know as covid, thought those sort of things were confined to history.
I swear the last time I ever had a filling privately it was like £50. Although London dentists do rip you off.
I've had family that have had dental work done in London before and the price was ridiculous. It might pay to actually travel out of the City to get it done privately, not so convenient though I will admit. Although if you are use to a particular dentist, you don't really want anyone else touching your teeth.
Yeh its an idea for sure. Known loads whove done their driving tests outside of London actually, but mainly for traffic reasons not financial.
