Neither have won - huzzah!! Hughton got MOTM & Clyne (Palace) got POTM Phew!! Although I don't think POTM has as much of a jinx against it, I would like to have seen Lambert get it. Ho Hum.
I did say I had a feeling it would be Hughton, ah well. I would rather be consistently good over the season than have one really good month every now and then

Haha, most neutrals in the media don't like us. Including sports interactive that make football manager... Most football fans i know have a soft spot for southampton. Mostly because of le tiss i think!
I don't think Mark Bright likes us. Listening back to his summary of the Peterborough match, he was asked if he thought we had a chance to get promoted automatically and he started to talk about Peterborough and how unlucky they were to loose to us. Then when asked the same question again, he responded by talking about West Ham, Crystal Palace and Birmingham and how brilliant they were all playing at the moment and how he felt all three would have a good chance of promotion. When asked for a third and final time about Saints' prospects, he responded by saying we'd be in the playoffs at best, and that was he could say about us! Complete arsehole!
Don't think neutrals don't like us, they just generally take no notice of us until we come into their orbit. Sky like us when we look like giving them a good game i.e. v ManU in FA Cup or v. Portsmouth for a local derby. They will like us towards the end of the season in important promotion 6 pointers. Adkins (much as we love him) is not a famous face to give them a quote on every subject under the sun, like Redknapp.
Unbelievable. We literally tore Middlebrough a new hole, totally outplayed west ham and destroyed birmingham. I don't know what more saints have to do to convince people we are the real deal.
Nicola has said that he wants Southampton to show how a football club should be run. He isn't one of the football insiders. Probably no one dislikes Adkins, but some may not be able to handle the fact that you can do well without a 'big name' manager and without buying in expensive ex-Prem players. Or it could be they are just totally surprised..well they are not alone..there are 23+ thousand people at SMS who still can't believe what they are watching.
He might be ignorant of Saints, but he might end up right. It's still a tough ask, to do what we think Saints are capable of. Agree, I just don't think we're on the radar. There are a few, like Claridge, who actually live in the area, so he's bound to take notice, as he goes to a lot of matches. It's notable that he thinks that there's no reason why we won't go all the way [his words].
tbh i don't think adkins should have won manager of the month yet, as it based on the results of just that month, through august september and october individually other teams have gotten better results in the respective months
