How posh? Try the Marriot Dalmahoy near Kirknewton. Loads to do at that time of year. All the Christmas and Hogmanay events etc.
No, never got round to it... first night we ate in the Malmaison (and then went drinking in the Granary) Next night, we went to Fishers - amazing selection of Seafood Third day, wife was loaded with the cold/flue so we headed back to Glasgow!
Good deal ... It's a lovely hotel ... there for 2 nights - defo eat at their sister hotel (the murray park) just down the road! It's a bit more basic compared to the Hydro but the food is 1) cheaper 2) better 3)friendlier service
The deal includes breakfast and dinner.. the place is ideal as they have boutique rooms which is what I wanted, found a place on the lake district but thought it'd b boring in the middle of no where, an having never been to scotland if i'm that far north may aswell come over the border.. Been on the website for the place it has everything.. Is it close to Edinburgh?? as would want to pay the place a visit too.
Cameron House on Loch Lomondside do some good deals on Groupon and Lastminute, booze is extorniate though but unbeatable scenery and lovely accomodation. Luss is 15 minues away and that's lovely for a walk around.
I know and he appears to have mixed up Cumbria and Northumberland but apart from those mistakes his post was 100% bullshit.
Spoiled though by all the neds fae Glasgow who go there every summer. Best to go in spring or autumn.
They don't come any more, they banned "wild" (in the literal sense) "Camping". By wild camping they mean 6 neds with a bottle of buckie, an axe, some bin bags for shelter and a ghetto blaster.
What do you mean? I have a lot of time for Glasgow and the surrounding countryside and I like Edinburgh as well. I'll let you into a secret oh 9 fingered one - sometimes, occasionally, I do not actually tell the truth on here. Seriously. Have a nice day.
