As the home and away fans enter, and leave, the stadium at the same time there should be no need for such dramatic segregation inside. The police and stewards need to get their act together, they only have a few thousand people to monitor ffs. Surely with the total cctv coverage they can weed out the troublemakers.
Any team that does this should have their allocation halved the next time they are due to play here. I’d say a full ban but that’s not really fair on the majority of travelling fans who are no bother. Something like that should be a rule for all clubs.
Did anyone get arrested for the incident on Saturday? I'd definitely be reducing the allocation for offending clubs. For them to admit there is a problem but then say they weren't going to implement a solution until next season is a bit odd. Particularly around such a serious safety issue such as this.
Reducing allocation for next season sounds good but does that prevent the half wits from getting a ticket and repeating their misdemeanours again. Difficult one really but it’s always the few that spoil it for the majority
What was actually thrown? Had bad did it get? Couldn't see anything from the Roker End, but obviously saw and heard the messages.
Thats because by the time the offending object makes its way down, its broken up due to re entering the atmosphere.
Even if you search everyone, you can’t take coins off them . Someone of an inclination could put say ball bearings in shoes. Reducing allocation would be unfair on good fans who would miss out , and some clubs may retaliate with reducing our allocation at their place. Maybe loads more cameras and signage to so.
Train a cctv camera on them and put a big screen up so they can see what the police can see. Put signs up to say the entire support will be held back if there's an incident .... ... if the 'decent supporters' don't shop them they can stay there til midnight.
I'd have been seriously ****ed off if our allocation at SJP was halved because of one knob head who chucked summat last time we were there.
Barnsey on the radio said we would also have our ticket allocation reduced if Burnley do but why? they cannot do that surely. i reckon they will be back in the premier league next season anyhow. They need to shift the away supporters back to the roker end. Should have abandoned the match when that 4thgoal went in last week lol.
