Give Daws the job, the players have responded to him. He’s found a system that works. Playing great footy….
What more does he need to do? Give him the job

    So what changed ?
    1- Shota confused the players
2- Shota was too dour maybe
3- Shota wasn’t happy with the players that he may not have chosen
4- Daws was a typical northern friendly open guy
    5- He communicates well
6- He changed the style to be a possession based but more dynamic , allowing players to move out of position and take small risks
7- He has allowed them to play out from the back to a mobile midfield with two full backs with ball control for cover and support
    8. He’s been strong with team selection and recognised how to get the best from some who looked stifled under Shota
    HOWEVER
Two wins doesn’t make him the answer YET but how we do against Blackburn this weekend will be interesting, it will be tougher they’ve got strength and a finisher .
Personally I get a feeling we are making progress and as the others come back from injury we can get better .

In a sense there was very little expectation before the Blackpool game. Now the performances have created a bit of expectation, but we can also assume Blackburn are better than Blackpool or Rotherham. So I do think how we do in next two home games (as Boro will be well up for it too under a new manager) will tell us quite a lot about how much Daws has improved things. If the team give a good account of themselves in these (doesn't necessarily mean have to win them both) , I would personally like to see him get the job.
ANY manager is a gamble. We could get someone with loads of experience but they might be less equipped to manage in the Championship than someone like Daws who has played there, knows the squad, and seems to be a very good communicator - all worth a lot.

Blackburn and probably Boro are really the fundamental tests of Dawson’s football. It’s been said enough here but Blackburn especially.

I was there for both of the two wins last week and the atmosphere as well as the football played felt much better than anything we’d done since the opening day. But both, Rotherham especially, are probably the two worst teams we’ve played this season maybe besides Huddersfield. Let the next week play out and see what happens.

Personally, I would defer any decision until the WC break, after the last 2 games I think it would be foolhardy to change things at present, as confidence is high and the style Daws is playing is pleasing to the eye.

As said by others the 2 games Blackburn and Boro will be a bigger test, but Birmingham was unlucky against Blackburn at the weekend losing by the odd goal and was the much better team in the 2nd half, so they can be beaten, and have lost the most games of those at the top end (7) already.

Give the job to Andy Dawson. We know he'd love it and give us everything and the players seem keen to put in a good shift for him.

One thing that has been a constant on here, is people complaining about interviews from previous managers and I don't think anyone can argue that Daws is easily the best interviews we've had for years.

The performance on the pitch has dramatically improved, the results have been fantastic, the attendances and the atmosphere from the stands has been excellent.

    What's not to like?
