Interesting as it seemed like he had been ruled out. What is his style like? Does it potentially give them an advantage with any Villareal players? Although managers taking former players is far less common that most people realise. I'm sure someone really looked into it with current premier league managers
Bournemouth playing three central defenders and Jack Stephens still can't get in the team. I wonder if they will try to send him back?
An annoyingly good appointment, would have loved him here. Although it is odd that he accepted the Villa job just a few months after declining Newcastle.
Actually VAR could have intervened there if they had established it was deliberate handball. TBH that goal probably shouldn't have stood. But I do have Zouma in my fantasy team so never mind.
Cat Kickers FC? To me it’s they’ve tried to play around with this rule too much last season any ball-touches-hand by attackers leading to goal was punished and deemed too harsh Now it’s only if it’s the player scoring or directly leading to goal, and stuff like this happens why can’t it just be if a goal is scored VAR checks if anything that is handball based on standard handball rules for the rest of the game has happened in the build up ?
Moyes was going on about how ‘scandalous’ VAR was a couple of weeks ago Interesting to see what approach he takes tonight if it stays 1-0
That's far more of a handball than the first half incident. But even so, I'd only go as far as to call it borderline - it could have gone either way (certainly he was making his body bigger, but was it unnatural?). Not conclusive enough for VAR to be recommending a review, imo.
Salisu did virtually the same against Bournemouth and it wasn't given as a pen. No consistency at all. That's just not a pen for me at all - he was so close to the ball.
