Arsenal drawing too, could have been worse. Newcastle and their ****ing time wasting is really pathetic btw.
Its been a weekend for City I expect Arsenal to start dropping more points. They looked tired in the 2nd half and they didn't really have the players off the bench to add anything to the team. The Europa league added to the league games showed. Spurs tactics are ****, Conte is Mourinho mk II. Sit back, make tackle in the middle of the pitch, pass it to Kane to lump it forward to a fast lad up front.
Arsenal done well not picking up injuries so have kept a consistent 11 throughout the season. Def helped them but may make them tired as season goes on. was telling arteta said the other day that players should be able to play every 3 days and the best players play 60 games a season
It was towards Saka, Arteta supposedly told him the best players play every match and can do upto 70 games a season. He's going to burn those young players out before the end of the season.
If we ignore city, we all expect them to winning a canter. Then really we have to get our act together but the teams we would like to chase are not that good. Let's park the cl next game by getting any result and then try our hardest in the league for the few games left. But.... but... 26th december there better be a flying team not a bunch of tv pundits (salah) or half fit players (jota, diaz). come Jan 1 fsg better have at least two signings ready to do. I would say the world Cup allows a deal in December with registration on the day and a lot of fans will not accept this going to deadline day. Alisson Trent konate vvd Robertson New cm new cm Salah jota nunez Diaz Minimum. The player who are toast are obvious. Keita, ox, milner, Henderson, thiago.. now fabinho. None are up to this level it seems. Even thiago.
He's now got a fit young squad. Ramsdale White Saliva Gabriel Tomiasu Martinez Saka Odengaard The elder statemen of the rapist, the thug and Jesus. You have to say poaching a few city players has helped them. Look at our contrast. 19 year old playing with 30,31,32 year old. Simply missing the 23-26 year olds Diaz, jota, nunez, trent, konate all 5 have been injured. Get them all on the park and it should improve
Annoying thing about this is, win yesterdsy and we’d be on 19 from 11. Spurs 23 from 12 Newcastle 21 from 12 Chelsea 21 from 11 united 20 from 11 us 19 from 11 (if we had won). we’d be right there. Admittedly game in hand is v chelsea but would be looking s lot brighter than 2 weeks ago. real missed opportunity to get us back into that too 4 race. Still isn’t over as lots of teams dropping points
Yeah, all of those teams will continue to drop points here and there, so it's much too early to throw in the towel. City will drop very few and the league is there for the taking. We're the only team to have gotten anywhere near them in recent seasons and we've had such a bad start that we're out of it now. We still have a good chance of top 4, but we have to start putting in consistent performances straight away. It's all very well analysing the team - old players, injuries etc to try and understand the problem - but the same team can put in wildly varied performances and to me the problem is attitude. We don't seem able to fire ourselves up for the "lesser" teams, and this poor attitude has to be eradicated somehow. It's all down to Klopp - he's worked miracles since he came here, and it's time for him to work some more.
Well you might think that (negative aren't we) But I couldn't possibly comment That said I'm fairly sure that if nothing happens people will explode over it when the time comes.
Weve struggle for number of seasons when teams have sat back against us. Previously we’ve managed to break them down through sure pressure with Salah/mane finding the net to break deadlocks and then holding on to those wins. Can’t remember exact stats but I’m pretty sure we had a large number of 1-0 wins in the prem winning season. Seems like these days we still struggle to break them down, but now lacking that player to do a bit of magic, win a pen, win a free kick and score from it etc. What struck me was we didn’t win 1 direct free kick in the forest game. There was no one in that team willing to pick up the ball and run at forest. Force them to tackle them, make a challenge in dangerous area etc.
You're right, it's always been a problem for us. It is for any top team because lower teams almost all try that tactic and it's up to us to break them down. I just think there's a complacency there, a belief that if we keep plugging away we'll get through eventually, but there's no real invention and no apparent sense of urgency right up until the last few frustrating minutes. Having said that, we had enough chances in the Forest game. Virgil alone should have won it.
Is say not all. City don’t struggle. Ironically they struggle more when teams come at them with some quality (although do majority of time Rip through them). Think it comes down to tactics. We’ve always been a team under klopp that wants teams to try pass the ball against us so we can press win it back high then use TAA Robbo to delivery early balls into mane Salah firmino. Teams that sit back and go long negate that ability and giving us the ball we don’t have creative players like silva foden de bruyne to beat those packed defences. id hope that Nunez would help in that regard by giving us an option in the box (like West Ham) but not seen enough of it just yet. Thisgo also helps in some aspect but he’s more about playing the pass to break the lines and find player in space like firmino who can then turn and play the ball or win a free kick etc. I think unless klopp completely changes how our midfield is set up (and seems to be moving away from that workmanlike midfield of fab Gini Hendo to a more creative one fab thiago Elliott which means if we dominated possession then have more creative spark. downside is they wont run around as much and win ball back as much so almost means full backs have to be deeper so when oppo get the ball and have time (cos we aren’t pressing) there aren’t huge gaps in the full back area for them to play ball into.
Which one of the last umpteen transfer windows that failed live up to expectation are you basing this unfounded transfer optimism on...?
