Even with the blunders & lies, I think you'll be surprised with his popularity amonst the public, Especially agaisnt the likes of Starmer & Co..the problem he has, is convinicing the members of his own party which might be his downfall!!.

Can a Leopard change its spots ?
Could Johnson tell the truth for once in his life ?
Could he abandon the stupid net zero green agenda in the midst of the economic and cost of living crises ?

BoJo stands down, he is not taking part in proceedings, look forward to Sunak then, personal preference Mordaunt, nice if she could sneak in and win the membership vote, see if enough switch from BoJo, apparently he had 102 MP's supporting him.

Johnson out - where have I heard that before I wonder!!

Sunak would have been my choice (if forced with a gun to my head to choose one of them) simply from an economic point of view; cautious, sensible and steady. Should quieten the money market’s nerves a bit.
He’s still got baggage though - his ‘non-Dom’ wife for one. No wonder he can afford his mansion with a shiny new swimming pool - most of his money came from his billionaire wife - who paid no tax!!!

I also hated his NI rise.

But he commited the same crime as Boris, he received a fixed penalty notice after pleading guilty to attending a party, paid his fine, we will have a criminal as Prime Minister, what's the difference?

Like I said Wiz, I’d need a gun to my head to choose.
I’m disgusted with the lot of them.
Mordaunt would be too much of a gamble for me.

By right, it all seemed set up that Sunak would get it when Boris resigned, I was gob smacked when Truss was chosen..
unless he has a magicians wand to put right all that’s wrong with the economy from now to the next election.. I can see a disaster in the making.. Labour in and Starmer as prime minister.. very very worrying times..

It helps if you stay within the rules, in order to do that you have to be bright enough to understand them. The trouble with Boris, Sunak and a lot of their supporters you just aren’t bright enough :emoticon-0105-wink:<laugh><laugh>

I think Boris had to pull out knowing, like the party, that another enquiry is coming in the next few months.
Not worried here in Cyprus, cloudless skies with the grandchildren.
    Happy Days.

Boris is supposed to be a working MP but yet again he was on holiday, this time in the Caribbean, only to home rushing back home when he thought he might worm his way into Number 10 again.
Don’t particularly like Sunak and certainly don’t want Mordaunt who wants anyone and everyone to be able to identify as what they want which is a dangerous road to go down
She’s also apparently lazy and goes missing when she’s supposed to be working
    Remind you of anyone ?
As for Labour and Sir Wooden, no thanks

Ok , Lammy and Abbot ain’t particularly bright… but still bright enough to know the rules, and not break them, unlike Boris & Sunak, then there’s JRM, that’s what happens after generations of inbreeding <laugh><laugh><laugh>

The weird thing about this is Hunt hasn’t even said what he is going to do yet. only that he’s not going to do what Truss was planning, I only hope the markets, and the general public, will be as understanding when he says what he IS going to do. That’s if the Tory party can manage to be stable for long enough to get behind his plans, Which I doubt .

    OK bank rate at £3%
This is the sort of start to the " end" of this term in .GOV the scratch line so to speak ... where we all start after a couple of false starts and an untimely dsqualification

    WHAT A DICK ..............
Homeowners struggling to pay their mortgages amid rising interest rates should be able to apply for a £300-a-month grant, the Lib Dems have said.

Sir Ed Davey said: "No family should face losing their home .... well put it into perspective p**s orf!
MORTGAGE RATES have been far far higher than they have been for the past 15 years .. building societies and banks have constantly fed mortgage [ and loan ] people pay more, just a little and it will end sooner. How many did? very very few instead it was spend spend spend the surplus on throwaways, holidays posher cars, new £150 trainers every few month's etc etc etc .. now you get your reward ... higher rates of interest on a lesser balance that could equal just having paid an extra £5 a week for the past 10 years! I pay [ paid ] a minimum of + 5% on all cards loans/ mortgage etc from inception ...

    example £800 mortgage + 5% = £840 pm from ave income of £18,000 [ not £9600 pa but £108oo, just £10 a week ]

so BITE THE BULLET you had a cushy luxurious lifestyle on the cheap .. now time to live in reality ... nothing is cheap ....eventually ....
