I’m in the same boat mate, but after reading some of their policies I think they are raving lunatics,.
I started life as a labour supporter. That is what I was brought up as. As I got older I decided they were not really a party with policies I could admire and made a choice to be prepared to switch my vote. I have been someome who judges each party on their policies since then, and I admit I want a bit of gravitas in the top team. If there were to be a general electiom tomorrow I could not for anybody in good faith. I think this is the worst bunch, across the house, I can remember.
I haven’t got a clue who to vote for, funnily enough Liz Truss may have put the nail in the coffin for most voters and things may finally change before long, at the moment politics is looking a total joke to most people and politicians are being ridiculed everywhere you look, how can they govern with everyone taking the piss out of them. It’s finally sinking in with everyone that they are just leeches with no true feelings for the electorate at all.
Fun while it lasted. I wonder how many who backed him will now pretend they always wanted one of the other two.
'As more senior party figures cautioned that a Johnson comeback would lead to chaos and an early election, the former prime minister struggled to get the backing of enough Conservative MPs.' He was never going to get the required numbers ... ... if he had he'd gave carried on and run. Just more lies to add the massive list.
So, knowing that Boris is out of the running, so that it will be Penny or Rishi, does that make you more optimistic? I confess that I feel a little more optimistic. If I had a vote it would go to Rishi.
I don't have a clue tbh mate. Rishi Sunak lost out to Truss so those who supported her won't be thrilled. I know little about him, less about her ... .. it's just a lottery.
A magician's assistant, dives into swimming pools... What more do we need to know, obviously made for PM
That is a hell of an accusation mate. If you can prove it, then fine. If you cant just be careful. Fair few accusation so far been proven wrong...
Oh aye. Boris has been proven to be a liar on many fronts. Fired and forced to resign from many. A person of his moral compass should never ever had the opportunity to hold such a position. Not going to be a GE unfortunately. Just have to let time pass and Sunak will just be holding the top job until the next GE.
I'm totally lost on the Tory parties love in with this pathological liar....Boris. The likes of Rees Mogg, Dores and even seemingly sensible people like Ben Wallace believe this moron would have been the saviour of our country. I cannot fathom out the basic logic of that thought process, knowing all we know about Johnson.
It's a weird phenomenon isn't it ... ... Trump is a massive liar and fraud but people fanatically defend him. Some defended his idiocy to the point whereby they were willing to storm the centre of democracy, attack the police and receive long prison terms. All the hypocrisy and deceit are declared 'propaganda from the media' ... crazy.
You have highlighted a flaw in Humanity, when it is considered collectively. THERE IS A TENDENCY FOR MANY TO ACT STUPIDLY. You have rightly highlighted Trump. Boris has shown himself to be arrogant, egotistical and morally bankrupt, but he ran a fairly stable, sometimes efficient Government, DESPITE his failings. Go back through recent history for other examples. Germany could easily have seen what Hitler would do. It was all in his book. But this was ignored when they voted him into power. In Russia, Gorbachev won back freedom from The Communist Party, only for the population to let this all pass to another version of Stalin. There is no shortage of examples. But the good news is that if you can take the long view (sometimes the very long view), common sense USUALLY wins out.
Sunak's first cabinet will set the tone. If it's all the old ****ehawks, not much will change. Fresh faces and ideas required.
