Aaronson, Adams and kristenson were marsch signings. He had no connection to the others. Aaronson and Adams have probably been our best two players this season. Sinisterra is a player. It will just take some time to adapt fully to the PL. Hard to see a way back for marsch now. Good luck to his replacement. Defenders who can’t defend, strikers who can’t score.
This sums up our problem. In the final third our players turn in to 10 year olds. Other teams look up, like seeing that slipping the ball to Summerville is a guaranteed goal. The only player who doesn't seem like a headless chicken in the final 3rd is Sinisterra in my opinion. The amount of shots that hit row z, the ridiculous chips that the keeper just catches, the crosses to no one or straight at the defender or to the keeper are killing us. It seems to be only us and we've been the same for years.
just described the difference between championship and premier league attackers. true it seems to be the Leeds disease… and like that for years. Even in the champ… On expected goals we should have won the league easily the first year under bielsa. It’s Both ends of the pitch. We ‘re a soft touch- seem to have to ‘out chance’ the opposition 3:1 to have a chance of winning. lots of decent play and endeavour in the middle third of the pitch. I imagine a lot of fans of other clubs feel the same as you tend to focus on your own shortcomings - but the stats support it in our case.
Just goes to show what a quality manager can do to a team, of course talking about Eddie Howe at Newcastle, what a turnaround in fortunes, looking a very tough to beat outfit, with much the same team as the last couple of years, a team in a similar position to Leeds going nowhere fast, until Howe took over that is, a team that beat spurs today to end a ten match winning run at the TH stadium and now sit proudly 4th.
Signed a couple of decent defenders and one quality midfielder...oh and a reliable goalkeeper. Suppose we should remember though that it took a good few months (plus a transfer window) for results to significantly improve.
Obviously done a very good job, but big chunk of cash, especially when they're not in a position where they have to sell. Lot of players that already have prem experience and the 3 that don't are the highest value transfers. Atmosphere around the club must be great given where they are very likely heading.
… apologies Leeds down south already made that point. I like Howe, but Newcastle showed no improvement for a couple of months until they fluked a win at Elland road and started spending last January Howe did a great job at Bournemouth but he did of course then get them relegated. If he’d come here, Would he have got Paddy scoring and our defence defending if he wasn’t able to buy his way out of trouble? Answers on a postcard please.
And what difference would any transfer window make to us Jammy. We’ve nothing to spend. We’re a busted flush. Obvious after today pal
