Johnson about 8 minutes from time. A nothing tackle by Virgil, player falls over in a rocking position on his back and his head hits the turf, rolls around clutching his head and banging his hands on the grass like he's really hurt.
Thiago was taken to hospital in the middle of the night in severe pain with what turned out to be an ear infection. Nunez needed one more day to be sure, Klopp indicating that he would have played had the game been tomorrow. No real worries
it was a head injury as his head clearly hit the ground reasonably hard and these days some of the grounds are very hard themselves . Which is something which almost certainly contributes to the number of injuries these days
Said during the game. There’s a clear difference between someone getting a head injury which rightly should be stopped and physios on to do concussion tests. and someone going down holding their head cos they got a finger touching their hair. If someone if on the ground rolling around, they aren’t concussed and game doesn’t need to be stopped. if someone lands, gets a arm in the face and is knocked out, then absolutely get on the pitch. Physios should be right in and concussion protocols should take place. All that’s happening stm is players go down, grab their head and get the game stopped no matter what the scenario.
Said it before the game, but 12.30 kick offs on a Saturday are so ****. Add to that we always get them. We have played 11 games this season, 3 of those were at 12.30 and all away from home.
Easy to point out the wrong doings from afar though. The on pitch referee as to make a decision there and then, they ****ed if they make the wrong call and the player IS seriously hurt.
Feel like the players know when it’s serious. Didn’t see 1 player go towards him while he was on the floor. Same with the lino standing right next to him. Just becoming too easy now to get the game stopped. Say Gomez didn’t foul the guy today, coukd he have just gone down grabbed his head and get the game stopped as were arms flailing around
personally think that was a far more legit one than many we see as his head clearly hit the ground with force unlike the face brushed by an arm ones or the "headbuts" .
Players are taking the piss with it. Just pointing out that the referee's are in a difficult position with "head injuries"
It was a controlled roll back as far as I could tell. Pretty much every time a player goes down his head makes contact with the turf. Looked like simulation to me and I'm someone who strongly believes in protecting against head injuries.
Well, if they make it a rule that if the game is stopped for a head injury then the player has to go off for a full head injury assessment, I think that might sort out the problem
He went down holding his face after the coming together with vvd? Vvd arm touched his shoulder/neck area
So let's be fair here. Forest worked very hard on sitting in 2 lines in their own half and then benefited for a Joe gomez brainfart. They worked hard and our lot failed to fire. Plenty of chances to score all all missed. Far too few from open play but loads and loads of set piece open goal/free header stuff that we totally failed to put away. The story of our season is not only **** defence but lacklustre forwards when we have 70 odd percent possession. We royally ****ed it today simply because we cannot finish.
err he went over backwards and his head banged into ground and he and VVD were injured or we are talking about different incidents
How many times have we watched us struggle to breakthrough a team that puts every player behind the ball. You can go on about all sorts of cheating and poor refereeing but the fact is we keep putting out poor performances. I don't even bother to watch Klopp interviews anymore it's becoming tedious.
Many of us have taken a CL place for granted. But it is now looking tricky for us to even get into top 4, never mind challenging for the title. It seems that the team AND Klopp have fallen into some rut that they need to get out of. The match today was one of the worst I’ve seen us play for ages. The play was far too pedestrian with little penetration.
