I think the vote was on whether to have the investigation in the first place. And Johnson lost. If he comes in and tries to make a new vote to shut it down it would be bedlamIt would, but so many things in the Commons are.

Lots in the party apparently hate Sunak so it could still be interestingIf you want to back Blowjob, you can get better than 3/1 on Betfair. Rishi tighter than 2/5 on. The market thinks Sunak is a shoe in. Personally I think he’s a slimy toad, but not demonstrably stupid or insane, and that’s about as much as you can hope for from this lot.
Still think in a functioning democracy, we the people should be asked to vote in a GE, but it looks like that might have to wait.

What would cause said implosion do you think? Do you think it really would trigger mass resignations? Aren't most Tory MPs both too cowardly and too self-serving for that? You must log in or register to see media
If it goes to the membership to decide between Johnson (please don’t call him Boris) and Sunak, the lying greased piglet will walk it, and the Tory Party will implode within weeks. Maybe even days.

They won’t win a Commons vote to get it stopped. They already lost a vote to do that when he was PM before. His backers are already saying the investigation must be axed if he wins, so the intention is clear.
It would be a step too far for enough of them. What would cause said implosion do you think? Do you think it really would trigger mass resignations? Aren't most Tory MPs both too cowardly and too self-serving for that?
