On another thread you extended an invitation to shoot you down ! I hope you don't mind, but I've taken the liberty of transferring that privilige onto this thread. I think that you may have not spelt correctly the title of your occupation ! ( W ) Either that or you have not seen many players in the history of the Gills. I'm afraid that if You took a poll, I would bet that Lomas wouldn't feature in the top 50. ( I could be unkind /pragmatic and suggest a much higher figure ) - but, having said that, I will always respect any player that has wanted to play for the club. (for the right reason)
Steve Lomas was a legend at Man City and West Ham. This was hardly the case at Gillingham due partly to the fact that he was at the end of his career and partly to Dimson wanting to humiliate him and get him off the payroll. He could hardly be described as a Gill Great but no doubt Tom Tom is speaking tongue in cheek. Lomas had a fabulous career and deserves respect.
If I could I would have 11 players in the side that had the same passion as Hess - it wouldn't be a disaster if we didn't win the game - at least you know that they would have given the full 100% ( which, sadly is not happening at the moment ) Before anyone shoots me on the ' 11 man Hess ' team, I have to say that I do go to see the Gills to win matches - but I appreciate the reality of the fact that, at the moment we are a L2 side and won't win all our games - but, on a personal basis, I haven't got a major problem if we lose - so long as the players put in ALL available effort.
