    Sunday 23rd October 4.30pm
    Premier League
    Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Richarlison and Kulusevski appear to still be absent for this one.
Emerson has completed his 3 match ban, so neither side has any suspensions.

Lineups for each side's last league game:

Spurs: Lloris; Romero, Dier, Davies; Doherty, Bentancur, Bissouma, Hojbjerg, Perisic; Kane, Son.
Subs: Forster, Spence, Tanganga, Sanchez, Lenglet, Sessegnon, Skipp, Gil, Moura.
    League form: WWLWWL.

Newcastle: Pope; Trippier, Schar, Botman, Burn; Longstaff, Guimaraes, Joelinton; Almiron, Wilson, Murphy.
Subs: Karius, Lascelles, Lewis, Targett, Shelvey, Willock, Anderson, Fraser, Wood.
    League form: LDWWDW.

Ref: Jarred Gillett (AUS). VAR: Stuart Atwell.

    TV: Sky Sports.

How would you like to line up for this one?

How I'd like to line up and how I expect to line are two very different things.

I'd like to see starts for Sanchez, Lenglet, Spence, Bissouma, Skipp and Gil. We're so stale and jaded (already!) that some freshness would be great, though I'm well aware the performance would likely be lacking seeing as most are still practically at pre-season level of fitness due to lack of minutes. Hopefully Kulu can be on the bench though.

Expecting us to start with the football's worst WB pairing of Emerson and Sessegnon, Hojbjerg and Bentancur will also be forced to run on fumes and Son will play as a ten as Harry continues as a nine and we'll wonder why neither look like their usual selves.

I'm also finally able to head back for this one, not been to The Lane since the first game of the season, so I'm reaaally looking forward to an Emerson masterclass <rofl>

Richy is still out, Kulu might not be back until November, and Lucas won’t start because of his tendon issue. So it’ll probably be 352 again. Given that, and the fact that Bentancur looks like he really needs a rest, what I’d like to see is:

    Lloris
    Romero Dier Lenglet
    Spence Skipp Bissouma Højbjerg Sess
    Son Kane

But it will almost certainly be Emerson at RWB and I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t start Skipp either. Or of course we might see a curveball and Perisic playing as a forward in 343.

After the last performance, I'm not looking forward to this game. Why should I bother turning up if the players don't?

Completely agree, especially with how much our STs cost.

The train strikes and then maintenance down my way has probably done me a favour, albeit home form has least been positive if not always enjoyable.

Here’s hoping for a positive result and performance. They owe us it.

Kulu out till after World Cup apparently.

Another whinge about the squad from Conte as well. Really beginning to wind me up. Maybe if he actually used a squad things would look much better.

can only see a narrow win to Newcastle on Sunday.

It doesn't matter how long you play or watch football we always forget how fickle the game can be. It's very different to games like rugby, cricket or tennis where it's very unusual for the lesser side to win. In football you can look like league winners in one game and no-hopers in the next. We are never as good or as bad as we think we are, it's the reason that football is the world's most popular game. The media needs to create a storyline so they always add to the drama. They were suggesting before our game with United that this would tell us how good these two teams are, it would define the season. No it won't it never does. When we went to Old Trafford and beat them 6 - 1 they finished 3rd and we finished 6th. Another good example was when we beat Chelsea 5 - 1 in the League cup before later losing twice to Chelsea 4 - 0 in the same season.

Let's see what happens but lets not write off our team or our manager yet.

I’m done with Conte if he starts with Emerson over Doherty

thought Doherty was **** against United

no intensity…no real belief in delivering a cross

Maybe he will be braver today though since we are at home and the crowd isn’t being mean to him…if he starts.

    edit: tomorrow

They were all **** against utd but Doherty has the potential to have a decent game. Emerson on the other hand just offers nothing even on a good day

I love how Perisic plays in a completely different match on Wednesday night that causes us to be lopsided...but people say he should start in spite him being defensively suspect, slower on the counter than the rest of the squad, and consistently getting under Son's feet

If asked how I would like to see us line up tomorrow I would respond 'facing forwards would be an improvement on Wednesday...'

Would love to see Spence get a game, Skippy too. Neither Perisic or Sess fill me with any confidence, but would probably go with the younger option, unless the idea of playing the Croat in a front three is an actual possibility.

    I'd go for something like...

    Lloris
    Romero Dier Lenglet
    Doherty Bissouma Skipp Bentancur Sessegnon
    Kane Son

Quality of passing out of the back line, and a combination of grit and guile in midfield

Nothing against Davies or Hojbjerg from the other night, as they at least tried to put in a shift. Anyone else who happened to start on Wednesday who I haven't suggested as a starter, mind...

Sessegnon is not a premier league quality player, he's been with us for 3and a half years and imho that is a long enough chance.
Royal is just as bad imo.

Not surewhy they both seem first choices...is as baffling to me as when Rose was constantly being played by Pochettino

Whoever gets picked today just better put in the performance of a lifetime.

I ain’t travelling 4 and a half hours, paying to stay the night at a travelodge, missing work tomorrow as I travel back 4 and a half hours just to see us play like we did against Utd. ****ing sell my ST on the spot if we do, mind you no one will buy it <laugh>
