It may be that our 'preferred' choices aren't that keen, and aren't as yet buying into Acun's vision. Then again having Rosie in the set up wouldn't be a bad thing, but as posters have suggested we need a bit more at this stage, Daws aint doing a bad job and knows what's needed, but get some experience in there.
To be fair to them, they very nearly qualified for Euro 2020 and they've now got a chance as winners of their nations league group. It's not likely, but it's possible if the draw is favourable to them.
If it's Rosenior then it'll be him and Dawson. For what it's worth, I don't think it is Rosenior that will get the job given the pedigree of some of the names I've been told. But if those bigger names don't want to come, we have to make a move at some point and it's a low cost move that'll play well with the fans. I think Rosie is a top bloke, spent a bit of time with him while he was at City and he did well during his time at Derby under the circumstances.
Me neither, but the names I'm hearing don't seem to be moving forward at any speed. We just need it sorting imo....but another win and good performance today and we might just see the Rosie and Dawson experiment
I see Dyche turned down an approach from Bournemouth. And, no, I don’t think that means it is because we are looking for a manager.
On the one hand odds fell quickly on Martins and the bookies weren't right that time. On the other hand I can see a situation where our preferred managerial targets are not yet convinced that this is the job for them, and we might have to settle for Rosie and Dawson so that the situation doesn't continue to drift beyond next weekend. I suspect Rosie will have interviewed well if he's been spoken to.
I would be happy with Rosie & Daws - let’s be honest this season is about avoiding relegation now….. Get the players performing, some signs of improvement
Is there any substance in this or is it simply another throw away comment growing arms and legs? FWIW,I certainly wouldn't be against it BUT we are people who knew Rosenior as a player,we saw him perform for us,we saw his passion for the Club. The new owner never, didn't and couldn't possibly have...Therein lies the difference?
I'm trying to find out as it seemed to come out the blue.( To me anyway ). My worry is Acun may see this as an appointment that pleases fan as opposed to making an appointment that's best for us as a club in footballing terms
He won't make an appointment to suit fans(Just my opinion). He'll make an appointment based on his interpretation of what suits him and his investment. This will be the 3rd coach during his relatively short tenure and hopefully he finds the right fit this time,it's his call and for his and our sakes, let's hope he gets this right...He needs to do something now when we're on the back of a good result.
I should think he's eyeing the Villa job. But, for me it's not a fit...I guess Villa might aim higher...Tommy Total.
i know its not going to be him, but id laugh if the international manager was somthing totally unexpected like Roberto Martinez. nowt like working with KDB one week then tufan the next. just hope whoever he gets, he gets it right this time.
You can say that with anyone though. We look a lot better under Daws than we did under Shota. Some of the football we're trying to play is very good too. If we're going to be realistic and aren't in a frantic rush to get promotion, it feels like a safe call. On the whole I've been really impressed by Daws. Really good man management, in what's been a tricky job. If we can put in another good performance today, it's not a bad shout
He tried to implement a modern style at Derby, had them in the play offs with it too. I’d be okay with the appointment personally based on this as I think it’d show us going down the long project route and a coach like Ros would be a good fit for that. I think the style he likes to play will be just as much an influence as trying to please fans. Was speaking to one of Derby’s YT players and he says the intelligence the guy has got us out of this world on a football level. Would be praying it worked out as I’ve always rated him in everything he’s done for the sport
rosenior is a legend and i don't doubt he will make a good manager but i don't think such an inexperienced manager is the answer now
From what I heard it was Rossy doing all the coaching etc, and Rooney just the front guy, and under the circumstances at Derby they did a great job. I would be okay with him back, as with Daws staying, Rossy is a very bright guy, and he will come across impressively at an interview which Tan I think will be impressed with. I guess we will have to see what develops.
His football intelligence/knowledge is right up there the Derby lad is right, I'd love to see him here one day, I just personally think it's a little to soon
